A Better Grapefruit Flavor

Hi.
I am looking for a way to get a brighter grapefruit flavor. I have mixed with Grapefruit (Cap) and (FA), also with White Grapefruit (IWN). The taste is certainly close to that of cooked grapefruit from a can.

The best results, I have had, is to introduce the flavor as a back note to a main mint note.

I am interested in a finding a way get more of the burst simialr to the zest, a sharper cleaner juice flavor without introducing too many other citrus flavors?

Green Orange (HS) maybe?

Thanks for you input.

Cooked grapefruit??
Sorry for not making myself clear. I am not looking for a cooked grapefruit flavor, but trying to get a more realistic fresh fruit flavor rather than a canned/cooked fruit flavor.

I don't think I have ever seen cooked grapefruit... But ok. You're looking for fresh grapefruit opposed to canned.
I have only tried Inawera's grapefruit and Capella's. I personally really like Inawera's. (it may be the white one, I couldn't tell you for sure. it was gifted) As far as what to add to it to make it brighter/more realistic... I can't think of anything that wouldn't alter the flavor.

You should be able to find it in the canned fruit section of any large grocery store. For canned storage purposes the grapefruit is usually heat pasteurized. I believe the result of this heat used is what the OP means as "cooked" grapefruit.

Interesting... I'd rather just buy a grapefruit... Never been into canned fruit/veggies besides peaches

Right ON! Canned fruit cocktail from school lunch is what comes to mind for me.
I think I am going to give the Green Orange (HS) a shot or Citrus Mix(FA) to back the grapefruit up.
Maybe I will give Sour Wizard (FA) a try but I am not confident this is boost it needs.

Thanks for all your input.

where i live, people used to heat up grapefruit (from a tin) to eat at breakfast with porridge. never heard of it for years though.

have you tried just the fa grapefruit on it's own? i find the taste almost exactly like a sharp, fresh white grapefruit. it's actually one of my favourite flavours, and find it to be one of the most natural flavours i've tasted. you can also mix i with a little lemon. i like it about 3:1 with a cream flavour, excellent combination.
