It's time for your voice
Stories have been a vital part of our lives since humans gathered at the first campfire many years ago. Stories scare us. They inspire us. They move us.
It's why movies are so powerful. It's why your story is so important.
Some "leaders" have tried to keep your story hidden. They call it an "anecdote" and promote the stories of their corrupt partners instead.
They aren't interested in truth.
Our film is nearly finished, but it's missing your voice. Even though we mostly interviewed scientists and medical leaders, we still need true stories from around the world to help humanize the story.
We need your voice.
Vapers
If you're a vaper who quit smoking, we'd like to hear:
Outlaw Vapers
If you're a vaper who lives in a country where it's restricted, we'd also like to hear:
Others
If you're not a vaper, but have an experience with vaping (or other tobacco harm reduction) that would be vital for the world to know, we'd like to hear:
Note: Please feel free to forward this email to any of your friends that have moved you with their story.
Tips
How to Record Your Story
It's been amazing to read your stories on our website and social media platforms. Unfortunately, we need you to submit a short video because we want your story in the film.
We know it's scary, but you can take as many tries as you want and we promise to be careful with editing.
We don't need you to go get a movie camera. Most phones will do. Before you record anything to send us, please watch my friend Sunny's video on how to make videos with your phone.
It is very helpful.
1) Make sure you shoot the video sideways, not vertical. It needs to fit on a movie screen.
2) Make sure you keep it stable. Shakiness is hard to watch. Hold it with two hands or set it on a table.
3) Face the light. Make sure you're not a silhouette.
4) Make sure it's a quiet place. No music. No loud noises.
5) Don't overthink what's behind you. Just make sure it's not a bright light or anything too distracting.
How to Send Your Story
Once you're happy with the video you've recorded, it's time to send it to us. The sooner the better. Right now would be great.
1) The easiest way would be to email it from your phone. Please send it directly to me, [email protected].
2) Another easy way is to upload it to YouTube and send us the link. You can keep it unlisted. We'll take it from there.
3) If you used a different camera or find a way to get it on your computer, use our free WeTransfer online transfer system to send it from your computer. It doesn't require any registration.
Your Permission
In order for it to be in the film and in theaters, we need your permission.
If you plan on sending us a video, please respond to this email, acknowledging that you read this part of the email. By submitting your video, you give us permission to use your video in the film, online, on television, in trailers, in commercials, and anywhere else we may decide to use your video. You also acknowledge that there will be no compensation.
We also plan on using many of the videos for an emotional YouTube video, so even if your story doesn't make it in the movie, there's a good chance it will make an impact.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
I look forward to hearing your story,
- Aaron Biebert & the team
