A concern with Ohms - Newbie

I am new to vaping. I get my first one tommorow so forgive me in advance if any of this sounds dumb. I just want to be safe.

It's a joyetech eGo AIO. (not a mod) It's meant to come with a variety of safety features like over-charging, over-discharge and short-circuit protection.

Now it supports 1.5ohm Clapton (MTL), 1ohm SS 316, 0.6ohm SS 316, 0.5ohm SS 316 and 0.2ohm Ni200 coils.

By default you get two 0.6 coils with it. It has inside a 1500mAH battery and volts are 3.7 to 4.2 depending on how charged the battery is. And it is around 15 to 28 wattage.

Now i'm being told by some vapers ( not the company who sold it or joyetech ) that to be safe that i shouldn't be firing anything below 1 ohm.

And yet most folks using this are using the default 0.6 or going to 0.5 ( 0.6 being the recommended by joyetech and the company who sold it to me )

So based on what you know above.

1. What are your thoughts on the 0.6 OHM it comes with and what do you think i should be using and why?

2. Will using the default 0.6 lead to any type of explosion? ( battery does not come out and it has lots of safety but i have to ask you guys who are experts ) Note: i will not be carrying it around with me in my pocket or anywhere. It will sit on the side at home for use throughout the day.

Consider this Joytech recommends the .6 heads.
I would keep it at that and call it good .6 and above.

Anything below 1.0 is called SUBOHM..
If you are using a regulated box mod, you are safe, there's a a chip in the regulated box mod that controls the whole VAPING experience, the chip won't let you fire what it can't do...

Maybe they meant anything below
0.1 is not safe, and that is called super subohm
GOODLUCK..

The .6 coil will work fine in your AIO, just remember to drop the nic level of your juice to 3 or 6mg. Anything above that like 12 or 18 will be way to strong for that tank/coil. Good luck, and welcome to VU.

what ej said is exactly right
theres a big difference between 1.0 ohm and 0.10 ohm

MOST regulated (has a computer chip in it to control it) mods will not fire below 0.10 ohms. Many will not fire below 0.3 or 0.2 ohms
and that is for safety reasons

now whats the difference between 1.0 ohms and say 0.6 ohms

well when we first started vaping most coils were above 1.0 ohms many were 1.8,2.4 etc.
and with that high of resistance the coils produce about as much vapor as a cigarette, sometimes less when you took a draw or puff.

now sub ohm or anything below 1.0 ohm produces much much more vapor in your mouth at once. which can be alot to deal with for a beginner but produces much more flavor at once. In fact USUALLY but not always the lower the ohms the more vapor is produced at once. BUt depending on how you build the coil and teh wire type etc that can be different

there is also a difference in how you puff for many.

If you like to take a puff then inhale the vapor in to your lungs- which is referred to as MTL or Mouth to Lung style, many prefer coils above 1 ohm for that

as opposed to DL or direct lung inhales which is puff and suck it right into your lungs - sub ohm coils are more suited for that, BUT you can MTL sub ohm coils as well.and DL with coils above 1.0 ohms as well

hope that helps
