Just picked up a Russian from a trade in pretty rough shape. It performs great but I've noticed that the insulator beneath the positive part of the deck is looking really beat up (the dumbass had a 0.3 build on it) and I was wanting to know if that can be replaced.

Also, the positive block slightly moves from side to side. It isn't causing a problem but I'm concerned about the future. Any way to tighten it back up?

Yeah that happened to my Kayfun too. Tighten that contact at the 510 connection. All it takes.

These are for the Kayfun, but i'd guess they might fit a Russian too, since they're so similar. Maybe somebody else knows better.

Yep agree with both jeremy and Fishee .. However, be careful when tightening the 510 screw especially with an insulator that you are not sure of. If you tighten it down two much you just may short the Pos connection not to mention over tightening that post will also cause your Battery Connection to lose contact depending upon the Mod you are using. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. I screwed the 510 in as far as I could, to the point that it wasn't sticking out to make contact anymore, and the deck still moves a little. I'm wondering if a new insulator will take care of everything. I have an authentic KFL and a couple of KFL+ clones, would any of those work? It'd save me the hassle of ordering parts I guess. And I don't really feel like molesting my real kayfun that much :p

If you want to cannibalize you kfl clones for the parts I would bet that the insulator would fit your russian.
It can't really hurt to try.

I'd replace the deck insulator and get a longer positive 510 screw along with a thicker o-ring or delrin insulator. I had the same problem on my Russian, cannibalized a crappy, leaky Kayfun 3.1 es clone and it fixed the issue.

Yep, I popped the insulator out of one of my clones and it fit perfectly. The 510 on the Russian is different than the kayfun, the screw is actually two pieces so that the actual contact can be adjusted for different mods. Had no idea til I took it all apart. The deck was moving because the inner most screw was a little loose. I got it all straightened out and now it's vaping like a dream.

With that being said, I honestly prefer the Russian over my legit KFL and the clones that I have. I've always at some point had leaking issues with the others for one reason or another and I've yet to have a gurgle with the Russian. This is turning into my favorite tank system for sure. Thanks for the help and suggestions guys.

russianrba.com carries a nice selection of parts for The Russian.
Most parts are interchangeable with the Kayfun.
Vape on.

What made me like my Russian over my KFL clones is that the air inlet was adjustable, now every clone and real KFL has it. I much prefer the air control on the side rather that a screw on the bottom, that way I can adjust without taking it off of my mod. As a rule of thumb, I don't put builds below .75Ohm in my Russian, just too much heat. Normally I build coils at 1.5 to 1.75 for use on my Provari.
