A quick story about my dog

Yesterday morning I woke up to him by my side, as usual. Then I put him on a runner so he can piss and shit. When he jumped up the steps, he screamed. I got scared quick, I picked him up and bought him straight to the vet. The vet said he pulled his back hip. (He's one) and for his breed (He's a Chihuahua) It's not rare. Today, which is why I wasn't on. He wouldn't eat. I bought him BACK to the vet and they said he was dehydrated. They gave him fluids and did blood work. The Dr said it could be cancer, and inflammation (I think I spelled it right.) Or some sort of virus. Tomorrow the blood work results will come back and hopefully he'll be fine. Please keep him in your prayers

bummer...... Ive got a situ that my old black lab(14yrs old, his name is angus) started to have these lumps pop up here and there a couple years ago. They don't hurt him when I squeeze them, and they don't feel hot, so I let it go.
Well, now he has many more lumps, and has a big one by his junk. (he's neutered, so it isn't his boys). He moans a lot, and hobbles around kinda stiff.
At night he pants so hard he wakes me up. I wan to put him outside, and we have another younger dog, Daisy, to keep him company, But I don't put him out.
Im worried he might have cancer.
I hope Sparta's blood work comes back good, and maybe its something else that can be managed.
Maybe Franciscan can put in a good word for you.

I send all my prayers. I have two chihuahuas, and they're insane. I'm always afraid they'll hurt themselves. I'm sorry and I hope he pulls through whatever it is that he has.

Awe I'm sorry to hear this little dogs do tend to have more back problems. I have wiener dogs and they are notorious for it. I hope everything will be okay for your little one he is so handsome . Have you tried hand feeding him I know when mine are feeling under i sit down on the floor with them and hand feed them

Thank you to everyone above. The blood work came back and the Dr said that he has low white blood cells. Which is bad. They gave him medicine. Problem is, he can't take it unless he eats. Which he won't. Hand fed or not.

Do they offer it as an injection? That really sucks! We want your little one to feel better, too. Is he drinking anything?

Sorry to hear that.. I have a 3 yr old golden and I would be devastated if I heard the C word.. Good luck!

At least with smaller dogs the hip thing shouldn't be too big of a deal.. My mom's has a busted knee and his hip is out of joint.. and he's perfectly fine. i guess it happens pretty frequently with the small ones.. the vet said it wouldn't be worth the $ to fix unless he's in pain

/\/\this is why I havnt taken my angus in. I feel bad. Like I have my head in the sand. I know he is in some pain, but he does play, and looks happy ....most of the time. don't want to lose him, and my other dog daisy would take off to go look for him.
