A regulated mod for the price of a clone mech.

Hi people. You might remember a few days ago I posted, asking about a brand called snowell? Well, it arrived this morning.

As it is only £10/$17 from China, or £17 from the UK warehouse (there is a USA warehouse too, you choose which you want on gearbest. I chose the EU one as I wanted it quicker).

I did not have high hopes for this device.

I have never been so stunned in my life. It works, perfectly, to 50 watts. You could buy this and a 25R and off you go, and that will be great for the teens who are having accidents not being able to afford safer gear and having no idea what they are doing, this brings a regulated, 50 watt device into their hands, at the price of a mech. Add a 25R in for a few more pounds/dollars, and you have a mod and battery that is either dead on 20 dollars or just over, then a good clone RDA and tank, such as the subtanks I received, a little dripper, and away you go.

Here it is in its glory, it is tiny, a CM taller than my IPV D2, but smaller depth wise:

.

It has a puff counter, Adjustable cutoff from 5-20 seconds firing, switchable to mech mode, screen lock, and reads my tank at 0.8 Ohms, which it is at the moment.

You can not build super low, 0.24 is the lowest, but for less than a trip to the shop with the missus and buying a milkshake and a few bags of treats, I have a fully working, 50W mod box.

I am so suprised, even the instructions were in good English apart from one word that stood out, warning was wrote as Warming, which I found funny for some reason. Probably as if you ignore the warnings you may be more than a bit warm lol.

I have been using it all morning, and am astounded. It is so good, that this may even BE my monthly mod, and I will get the sig next month, and with the money saved I will get that storage chest I need to keep my gear in, as at the moment they are all on my guitar amp, I can get a big chest for £30 that will fit all my gear, juice, and mods in, plus room for many more.(Plus maybe a camera. It's pretty much solved that it is me now though, which is more upsetting than scary really).

What is the cheapest mod you people on here own, that actually was better than you expected?

Ok, with a 0.5 Ohm coil the maximum it fires is 45 watts, and that is in my velocity I usually use at 50-60 watts. It is producing thick clouds even at 45 watts, it did come up on screen POWER REDUCE when I used 50, but I was told about this, if you build lower it will fire at 50 no problem. BUT, a big but, is the 45 watts it is producing seems to be a very powerful 45 watts, producing clouds that I usually get at 50W+.

3-4 Ohm coils (If anyone makes them that high) it fires up to 20 watts.

The clouds being produced are more on par with 50 watts though, It works at 50 watts with a slightly lower build, but even the 45W is amazing for the price.

It produces huge clouds with the right build, and would satisfy any younger vaper with that desire. I will be using it more sedately with a tank as a take out vape, as it is so cheap, if it gets damaged or even lost, I can order a new one the exact same day.

EDIT: It even puts it to a suggested wattage. Say on my 0.8 Ohm subtank, if I select 30W, which leads to dry hits if I chain vape, the first time it drops it to 23 watts, which is actually what I found to be around perfect maximum for this build. After the first time, you can up the wattage, but to even have the sense to give you a sensible, ideal wattage is another amazement factor.

Ok my batteries are usually needing a change around 4PM in single battery devices. This is still 3/4ths full, vaping at 20 watts, same as I do on my other devices.

I truly am astounded at this device, and how the hell it is so cheap, and the amount of people that use them that recommend using only USB charging and have never had a problem. It is due to the screws, they recommend putting a battery in, and just charging via USB. This is an older 25R, It was all that I had charged to put in, I was going to swap it for a new green one, but if the life is this good there will be genuinely no need.

I even had a blast for 20 minutes or so of some full on power fun. It appeared it really was putting out the wattage it claims.

Well, 319 puffs and counting on the old blue 25R. Estimated on steam engine 305, so it seems to be working well within what is expected from the battery still. Not sure it is even worth putting the new 25R in, but I will to see if it has more capacity than the 6 month old battery, and lasts longer, but I have a feeling it will be the exact same.

Once it has run out, I will try a new green one in there for tomorrow, as the 25R is 4-6 months old with daily-every other day charging, so probably is not still 2500MAH. I wonder what a real 2500MAH battery will allow? Even the 319 puffs is pretty amazing on one battery, still got a bar of battery left, going to see how many I can get before the charge battery warning at 3.1V.

I never realised till yesterday, as batteries age not just the capacity is reduced, but also the amp rating.

EDIT: 338 puffs and it gave low battery. I doubt the green will be an improvement, but at least I know the batteries I have that are 6 months old are still performing well within their range, exceeding their expected range actually in this device, and my D2.

Damn, I may have to order one as a work beater! Toss on my Subang and I'd have an all day vape that I wouldn't worry about breaking or losing.

thats exactly why I got one! I realised it does not take the battery down to 3.1V before warning, its around 3.4V. I pulled the old 25R and put the new in, performing the same as expected, I am really going for it today though to see if the 6 months will of made a difference to capacity due to near daily charging, see if the brand new battery gives me more puffs. If it does, I will use the green, but if not I will use the 25R as it is rewrapped and yellow, and will be a bit confusing having 3 green and not 4 lol.

Ok I got 338 puffs with a 6 month old 25R, a new green one I got 355. Extremely close for a battery that has had charge/discharge almost daily for 6 months.

I think because the difference was so small, and the blue 25R is rewrapped with yellow shrink wrap and permanant marker that is blurry, I will use that as it is still performing above the steam engine calculations, at 20 watts, with a 5 second pull limit set so the test was the same.

BUT, with the older 25R, I did have a twenty minute blast at full power as well using a RDA, so the original 25R is going back in, and the new green ones will be saved for newer, more expensive mods.

But samsung seem to be right, the old 25R and new perform the same. Maybe the blue a bit better seeing as it has had daily charges for 6 months, so the MAH should be lower, but it is still performing like a new one. Happy to know that the 25R is very durable, and the greens even more so due to the chemistry change.

Good stuff Conan! Just keep the promoting of this to teens to the eight teens and nine teens please.
I should of added that in, I did mean people of legal age, not under. It is just some 18 year olds genuinely can not afford a regulated mod, so go for the mechs, have no idea what they are doing, and well, we have seen what can happen, the one that stands out is the picture of the battery that vented whilst in a young mans mouth. I gathered it must of been a tube mod, as it appeared the explosion shot straight up, through the drip tip, and burnt his tongue black and his lips badly.

I do not know if that was real or a photoshop, but it could feasibly happen, and for 2 more dollars they do a 65W version if 50 is not enough, even though I have got monster clouds from 50 watts with the right set up.

I may even do a youtube video, my first, on how to vape on the cheap, safer than using a Mech mod. They even do a 65W version if the 50 is not enough to satisfy them for 4 more dollars, but with the right build the 50 is really chucking some clouds! Even on my higher power devices I use between 45-60 watts mainly, unless I am on insane mode for an hour or so.

I think I will include the mod, a good, cheap tank, battery, and dripper for under a certain amount.

God knows how I will be at making videos, but why not? If it even makes one older teen safer, I will feel like I have done something good.

Go for it! Why not?
I'm glad you think its a good idea, I wasn't really sure but I was practicing in front of the mirror last night.

I will have to make myself look presentable, which is OK as my head has just been clippered with the gaurd off and my stubble the same length (How I like it, and how most women have told me I look good, so its win win lol :p ).

Going to write down the main points later on a pad, such as total price, individual prices, then a review of the entire unit, and then showing it in action with a tank, then with a dripper at the full 50 watts, show what it can produce. I will also explain there is a 65 W available if you really want to chuck some clouds (I generally use 50-60 watts even on my big devices with a dripper, I have became more sedate after getting a bit bored of fogging my room up so much, it would somehow travel under the door and make the whole house vapey. My mum didn't mind but my grandad didn't like it, so I got a draught excluder for my door. Now it only escapes if I am cloud chasing if someone opens the door).

But I think 50W is well enough with the right build. I do remember reading at one point people who vaped over 30 watts were seen as mental lol?

I will probably have to explain the differences, as the 0.24 minimum may put some younger people off, but I need to show them you don't need to build at 0.1 to produce a thick cloud. I actually find slightly higher, say 0.3-4, is better at that wattage, and explain that low building was down to mechs, and it was the only way to get more power, but with a regulated, you can use what you want (Within reason, I wouldn't be using a 2ohm coil at 50 watts, and doubt others would unless they enjoy throat burn and genuine smoke lol)

This will either go very, very well or very, very bad. I am obviously hoping for the first one lol, I see no reason for the second though apart from trolls ETC.

Once you complete the video please be sure to advise how we can find it...
I wanna see !!
I have already got one friend who is a light smoker who is going to order one, along with the subtank clone I had(good quality) and a pair of 25R's that he is ordering on his payday. He has an EGO battery and tank, but loved mine, and for the price he loved it, as he likes tech, and when I explained to him about all the coil building and safety aspects, his eyes lit up with excitement :).

Ok so the video needs a clear source on where to get these Items, would it be good if I leave an option for two tanks and two drippers that are cheap, but good quality clones?

I will also link to one China source for 25R batteries, one for the USA, and one for the UK. I will link to Li-ion wholesale for the USA, and probably noble vaping for the UK as a 25R is only £5.50 there with no post and packaging.

The cheapest option is all china though. A few people on here told me fasttech sell authentic 25R's, so I got some of the new green ones.

I did the checks to make sure it is genuine, such as counting the number of dots on the battery, what was under the wrapper, the vent hole, and the small marking on the metal at the bottom of the battery.
