I was asked by @whiplash leon if I wanted to review the Alleria RTA a few weeks ago and I happily said yes. Shortly afterwards I was told by Leon that they would be sending the sample after they make some more adjustments, about a week ago he told me he was sending out my sample. I have been anxiously anticipating this RTA and my initial thought was a "Griffin Coilporn RTA", which would fit me perfectly! I have received this RTA to review and I didnt spend a dime on the product for once, this wont change how I feel about it...as it never made that difference before.
Today the mailman had me sign for a package and as I took it into the house I started tearing it apart, I thought it was insane how protected this damn package was! They even wrote my name on the inner package, which I thought was a nice touch. It took my a knife and about 2.5 minutes of cutting and pulling to wrench the RTA box out of this inner package, I knew this thing would be in perfect condition due to how well it was packaged.
The case is similar to most other RTA cases and I find it nice. I like that its a thin and slim case for people like me who like to prop up their packaging on a shelf. The contents of this package were the RTA, 2 pieces of extra glass (One Tank/One Chamber) and a bag of spare screws and O-rings. Everything that could be replaced is included in the spares and not many RTA's come with a full rebuild kit like that...Bonus Points!
I will be comparing it with the Diablo 5ml and the Griffin RTA, maybe instead of the Griffin I should of used the Crius as its more on the same level as the Alleria, Ill explain afterwards....
This RTA is one of the Cleanest RTA's Ive ever had first opened, no oil, no smell, no taste of nastiness, nothing. There are no Burrs or Flakes or Scratches and it was in perfect condition.
The Alleria isnt a Tall RTA, its size matches the Crius (Not Shown) and its 23mm wide overall. It holds just about 3.7ml of juice and has Top Fill similar to the Griffin, its very easy to pour juice into it and when using one hole the air cant vent out of the second slot. The Top Cap is easily removable due to the style of knurling on it. The Drip tip uses a 510 sized hole and you can use your own drip tip if you would like, but you will need to hold onto the Alleria Tip as its a tool that adjusts the Juice Flow control. The Tip included is made of delrin and is wide but not chuff wide, it provides a decent amount of airflow but isnt a gaping hole.
The Airflow is adjustable and is mirrored on both sides, you have 2 x 10mm cyclonic slots and they provide a great amount of airflow. The AFC ring is knurled with large squares for easy gripping and can be closed completely and there is a stopper so it doesnt constantly spin, I find this a great feature and more RTA's should have this.
The deck is similar in size to the Crius V3 and you will be limited to 2.5mm coils with thicker gauges or clapton type coils. The posts are machined well and the Positive post has been cut at a slight angle to provide more vertical strength, the postholes are 2mm wide and can fit some larger sized wire easily. The Alleria uses M2.5 Grub screws and this is one of the only RTA's Ive received that the screws dont strip easily when tightening on the leads, they dont cut the leads either due to their form. The wicking fits into a ring thats similar to the Griffin and it can be adjusted or removed if necessary. The 510 Pin is made of copper and is adjustable, so you can use this RTA on anything you wish with the proper adjustments!.
Now on to the Comparison!
Left to Right we have the Griffin, Alleria, and the Diablo. These are RTA's that are popular right now and would be the closest competitors to the Alleria. The Crius V3 would also be a very close competitor but its build quality doesnt match the Alleria or the RTA's shown IMO...
The Barrel/Chamber of the RTA's are similar in size, but the thickness of the Alleria's Glass is what makes it smaller in Inner Diameter. The Alleria can also be used in Kennedy Mode, much like the VCMT!
Now this is a different style of Juice Control and it is pretty unique in how its done. Its a great design but if you like using you own drip tips then you will need to keep this on you to adjust the Juice Control.
Now I built this for a Unregulated Box Mod so you wont need to build like this or anything close to get the same performance I am getting. Due to the Chamber size and the way the Airflow travels almost any type of build will make this RTA rock your socks off! The deck its most similar to is the Cthulhu V2 Velocity Deck, everything except the post holes are exactly the same size. You will need to build coils that are 2.5mm ID with Gauges in the lower 20's but if your using 26g or higher you could get away with 3mm, but keep the amount of wraps between the Juice Ports!
I made some Framed Staples Coils yesterday for this RTA just in case I got it in the mail and I am very glad I did, I didnt have much time this morning to play around. The post holes swallowed the wire without hesitation and the screws went in tight without a hiccup, no stripping like most screws Ive used or tried!
Build Specs: 3 x .3 ribbon/28N80 Frames/40N80 Outer Wrap (7 Wraps/2.5mm ID @ .12 Ohms).
Wicking this RTA is much like wicking the Griffin or Crius V2, if you dont know how I did write a nice tutorial on how HERE.
I have this on the Sniper Box Mod and its filled with FiveFoldVapors Carnival (70VG/30PG) and I didnt need to close the Juice Control to fill it, no leaks so far! I love the fact you can watch your wicking get dry and see how well its wicking, so you can make adjustments if necessary. You can also remove the deck without draining the tank. The airflow wide open is similar to the Twisted Messes RDA-Its a open draw but its slightly restrictive and it can be closed down to MTL but this isnt the RTA for that...
(I cut off that bit of insulation as it was some over molded, I did remove it before using the RTA...)
I feel this RTA is in a league of its own and if the Crius V3 wasnt such a poor product then it could be thrown into the same category, its a pure flavor chasers RTA and it delivers in full, it also has the added benefit of checking you build and wick. You can show off your build to others without tearing it apart and see how much juice you have at the same time, how cool is that? The machining well done and with everything it comes with and the features it carries I can safely say I would buy a Alleria, maybe 2 more
The Alleria RTA can be picked up from these stores if your interested in getting one!
