Hi all, nice to be here.

I've been off stinkies and sub ohm vaping for close on 6 months. My Wismec Presa 40w mod has been great but it's been dropped twice recently and it really looks like it's gonna fall apart real soon. So I'm looking for a replacement mod and it seems to make sense to get one that's TC, (temperature controlled) which mine isn't. I've been researching mods and if I'm understanding things correctly, it seems that you can't use Kanthal wire with TC mods. I've got a good supply of Kanthal and I'm reluctant to bin it, so my question is can I use my Kenthal coil builds on a TC mod but only using the watt/volt setting initially and when my Kenthal is gone then move onto the correct wire for Temperature Controlled use.

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance

most temp control mods let you run in wattage mode which you can use kanthal with wattage mode. Or you can switch it to TC mode and depending on which wires it is capable of use SS, Nickel, Titanium. Kanthal is not able to be run in temp control mode at this time.

If your looking for Kanthal TC the only mod that does it so far is the Hohm Wrecker G2...it has a large learning curve and I dont find it suitable for the Novice Vaper. I would just use Wattage Mode for now like others have suggested. Pick up something you find that checks all your boxes and find it at a great price then get it, you can always work up from there to find what you need in the long run!
