Always Sunny Star Weighs in on James Gunn and Roseanne Firings

During a panel for FXX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, executive producer and star Charlie Day weighed in on the current climate of celebrities like Roseanne Barr and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn being fired for problematic tweets, suggesting that having comedians' jokes come under more scrutiny might be good for comedy in the long run.

When a reporter at the Television Critics Association summer press tour asked the cast whether they were worried about past jokes being taken out of context and used against them, Day said, "I haven’t seen too many examples of things being taken out of context that were things that were said or tweeted in a very intelligent way," pointing out that the jokes on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are "always a commentary on bad behavior; when you're making a commentary on bad behavior and someone says something that's bad, you get it."
