Two things I have been saying for the past 4 years:

American initiative to stop people smoking coincides with rise in obesity

American initiative to stop people smoking coincides with people needing lifetime psychiatric treatment causing anti depressant prescriptions to skyrocket allowing big pharma to rake in billions off of depressed ex smokers.


Even someone who just barely graduated from high school can see this.

I wonder how come those who claim to be the most intelligent choose to look the other way? - 5150

I think the decline in smoking is a contributing factor to the epidemic of obesity, but it's by far not the largest factor. What these guys missed is the COMPOSITION of the food we eat, specifically the utterly counter-productive "low fat" trend that started a few decades ago, that's now slowly coming to light as a huge mistake.
