Just caught this on Facebook and it's from my local news. I have to say that I was shocked that the article called it vaping and actually was pretty accurate.

That being said, what the hell is a 17 year old doing with a mod and juice in the first place?!

OK.. I'm another one who didn't start until I was legal (right around my 18th birthday), but I'm sure you're aware, that's the exception, not the rule...

Very true. I have a feeling this kid was using a super low resistance coil that was pulling too many amps on his battery.

Maybe -- if he had a POS battery. But decent, vape-worthy batteries seem to be pretty dang tolerant.

It seems to me that most of these "explosions" are faux-hybrid mech mods with an unsuitable screwed on. In that case, the build is irrelevant; when you push the fire button: Dead short.
