I just purchased a Horizon Tech Arctic tank on Ebay, as I was searching for a tank that could use Aspire Atlantis coils, as well as stay under $15, because my father and I like to be able to purchase the same coils and be able to share them with each other, when we need an extra coil. I'm hoping it's a good tank, but any insight from personal experience would be nice to hear. I'm sure it's great, as the coils are the main factor, and I already know that I love the Atlantis coils.

My thoughts on the tank are that it produces pretty good flavor, but it is only 2.5 ml, and it drinks through juice. Big time. It is a nice tank, just not enough capacity for me. I'm yet to try the nickel coils, which may help juice consumption. It's definitely a tank that can handle some power, and wants power.

Also, I hate to break it to you man, but I'm 99% certain Atlantis coils don't work with the Arctic.

That would suck because I searches for tanks that are compatible with Atlantis coils and it was one of six results.

I found mine nice when I first got it, but compared to my Crown it's pretty pedestrian. And I don't think it takes the Aspire coils...

Sorry to burst the bubble. At least you know and can decide to return it or go with it. It is a good tank.

The wife and I both use Artic's w/ 1.0Ω coils. I also have a Melo 2/TC60 kit, that can use Atlantis coils, but haven't used it ( bought just for the mod)

I use my old Arctic on occasion, with the 0.2 ohm dual turbine coil. It is a nice vape for sure, though I don't get much coil life out of these, unless I keep the pwer down in the 60's, and give it awhile to rewick between pulls. I find it more enjoyable than the Atlantis 0.3, but those coils last a good while. About to try the 0.5 Aspire Clapton, which I've heard good things about.

If you like a tank with Atlantis type coils, and not expensive, maybe consider the original Herakles. The coils tend to last awhile, and have nice flavor, plus an 0.6 ohm kanthal coil that is nice around 60w but can go much higher too. Alot of performance and reliability (does not leak or give dry/burnt hits) for a low price. And though I don't buy tanks for looks, I think the Herakles is sleek and classy looking. All of these drink alot of juice, though not as much as a tfv4.

I use mine in rotation, it does the trick for me. Still prefer my TFV4, then the Crown.

If you want a great top fill tank that uses Atlantis coils (in a pinch), get the Silo Beast. I'm using mine with .3 SS coils at 75 watts and the flavor is equal to the Crown, but with better airflow IMHO.

I still use my Arctic V1 daily, and it still is a pretty nice tank. Prefer the .5 kanthal coils on my 50w IStick. This set up is a year old and at one time this was cutting edge vape technology!:D.

This tank is so badass... I don't even care about the coil issue. :p Got it maxed at 60W on an Evic VT and I'm very surprised that more people don't talk about this tank.

I love the tank when I was using kanthal coils on it, .5 ohm. I ran out of those coils and now I moved on to nickel .2 coils and their is some crazy bad spit back even when my mod is set at 250 celsius and 60w. Anyone else got this problem? Also im almost certain its not just one dud coil, I put the second coil from the pack in after the first and it was spitting as well. It isnt even tolerable, I hate it.

The Arctic was a top 5 sub ohm tank when it came out and everybody was talking about it. That was just a long time, in vape time, ago. When it came out it was typically bundled with 1 .2 ohm BTDC and 1 .5 ohm BTDC coil. With the version 1 coils there were 3 additional options that most dealers never carried. They were the .2 ohm BTC, .5 ohm BTC and 1.2 ohm BTC, all single coils as opposed to the dual coils that were included with the tank. The single coil replacements last far longer than either dual coil option. My favorite v1 Arctic coil was the .2 ohm BTC. At 40W the Arctic with a .2 ohm BTC coil was giving me a better vape than any Aspire, Kanger or Sense tank could. I also enjoyed the .2 ohm BTDC coils at 60W but they didn't last for more than a few days before needing replacement and a 2.5ml tank capacity at 60W just wasn't practical for me.

Since, Horizon quietly changed their coils and switched the color of the box from white to black. They have also introduced a top fill version of the tank. I am now using the top fill version with either the v2 .2 ohm SS coil or the v2 .2 ohm Clapton wire coil. These v2 coils all seem to last longer than the v1 BTDC coils. And the two I specifically mentioned have given the performance of the v1 BTDC coils with the flavor and coil life of the v1 BTC coils. With the top fill tank the 2.5ml capacity isn't as much of an issue.

I have always liked the Arctic. It was frankly a superior mechanical design compared to the other sub ohm tanks on the market that preceded it. Instead of improving the Arctic, Horizon unfortunately just kept introducing new tanks that used completely different coils and the Arctic suffered. Coupled with the small capacity and lack of coil compatibility with other tanks, it never could catch up with the competition. I hope that the new coils and the top fill tank bring back consumer interest but it might be too little too late. There are now 12 different coils out there for the Arctic so if you like what you are using make sure you get the same coil by referencing what is stamped on the coil itself. The v1 coils are all discontinued but still available at many dealers. They are marked with either BTC or BTDC on the coil. The new BTDC II coils are similar to the v1 BTDC but are most definitely different.
