Placed an order with ecigexpress because at the time they were the only ones that had large bottles of Fuji Apple (FA), Simple recipe that I have made 20 times. Fuji Apple (FA) 3.5%, Cinnamon Roll (FW) 6%, Ethyl Maltol 1%. It didn't taste right. I thought Ok maybe I wasn't paying attention and over added something, dumped and remixed. Still doesn't taste right. WTH?

With the soft plastic bottles can get contaminated real easy. One time a friend of mine I made some juice for was complaining about the flavor tasting off. I smell the bottle and it had the smell of perfume. What we determined was she would put it her purse that had a perfume aroma and that was all it took. We actually had to toss the bottle because after a good washing it still had that smell.

Interesting.

I'm assuming you ordered a 120/250ml? I know that Fuji moves in and out of our distribution/production facilities extremely fast, so the likelihood of the bottle having any sort of effect on the flavor is very slim.

Can you describe the difference in taste compared to how it should taste?

6% Fuji would make me choke I'm afraid, I can taste it even at 0.5%.

Your earlier "good batches" may have been from an older bottle which had lost some strength maybe.

I'd try some of the new stuff at way less, even at 1-2% it should be plenty strong.

I have been playing with it some today. I am am thinking it may be the ethyl maltol. The sweet cinnamon roll flavor, seems to me whats missing. I went back and doubled the ethyl maltol in the recipe, and the sweetness still isn't there. Tasted the EM with my tongue, and it taste more chemical than sweet. Batch# was EM102715, if that means anything. Never tasted EM with my tongue before, but I expected a blast of sweetness that's missing. The sweet seems to be what's missing from the recipe as well.

I transposed't the Fuji 3.5% and Cinnamon Roll 6% when I typed it. Lol, I went back and mixed a small amount to make sure I didn't when I mixed. I'm thinking I have a bad bottle of EM. It's a muffing man clone i'ts definitely a sweet sour, and Cinnamon Roll. A friend of mine owns Pell City Vapor, we all agreed it's the sweet that's off. We mix another one we call Apple Muffin, Cinnamon Roll 2.5%, Fuji 2 %
EM 1% that's really good as well.

I know that EM is not an insanely sweet flavoring but you're right that it should be sweet in general. I normally use it to tone down my wild fruits and use sweetness for sweetening things. I'd suggest buying a new bottle of EM and testing it by tongue to see for sure.
