Respawn has pushed out a new Apex Legends update that nerfs the battle royale's newest legend, Seer, after numerous complaints from players.

Seer is the latest legend to join the Apex Legends roster, having been added to the game at the start of Season 10. Many praised his design and abilities (on paper). But when Seer finally went live in the game, players felt like the character's abilities — specifically the Heart Seeker ability that allows him to see and hear the heartbeats of nearby enemies — broke the action of Apex Legends.

The calls for a nerf soon rolled in and now, those calls have been answered.

Good morning! We just shipped a @playapex update that fixes a few bugs and introduces balance changes to Seer.

As you can see in Respawn's tweet above, Seer received a large number of balance changes, especially in regards to his passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities. Heart Seeker, which is Seer's passive ability, now has a longer wait time between sensor spikes, a reduced range, and a reduced field of view.

Seer's tactical ability, Focus of Attention, sees Seer use drones to damage and mark nearby enemies to reveal their location and their remaining health. The drones also interrupt any abilities those enemies might be using. The detonation time of the drones has been increased and now, players marked by the drones will no longer take damage or be flashed.

Furthermore, Seer players will move slower when using Focus of Attention.

Exhibit, which is Seer's ultimate ability, creates what is essentially a dome of drones. The location of anyone in the drome is revealed. Seer players will have to wait even longer now to use this ultimate after today's balance update as the cooldown time has been increased from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.

Basically, Seer is designed to reveal the location of enemies, making it tough to get the jump on him. That's still the case after today's update, but Seer players will now need to be a little more patient when using the legend.

Some are already saying these nerfs aren't enough, but for the most part, players online seem thrilled with the balance changes.

Over on the Apex Legends subreddit, however, players are less thrilled. The main complaint amongst players on the subreddit's main Seer nerf discussion post seems to be that Seer can still interrupt healing amongst enemy players.

Considering that Seer's abilities still interrupt healing, it seems that Respawn deems that potential for interruption essential to the legend's playstyle. Who knows though? Perhaps another nerf will happen that changes that.
