Note: I've watched all 13 Aquarius episodes and compiled a big Season 1 review here. Now, I'm going back through each one and giving and laying down an individual review. These will be short-takes though.
I really enjoyed "Why?," an episode that threw Charmain in the middle of a vicious ambush while also showing us just what it took for Sam to fully cross the line, legally speaking. The show has dropped hints in various cases as to the lengths Sam will go to in order to get his man, like abusing suspects here and there, but this time he went over the edge by coercing Charmain into false testimony. A move that everyone, including the killer's lawyer, knew was bulls***, but still allowed to stand as part of an unspoken "cop code." The same one that also prevented Sam from pursuing a case against Officer Tolman a few episodes back.
