As with nearly all mechs and mods in general.. it is as good as the person using it. It is safe if used safely. A good vape is 100% Dependant on the users ability to create a good build... the key to a good mech vape is NOT the mod... a good vape requires a good build that operates at 4.2 volts down to around 3.5 volts.

Cheers mate, so as long as I have a ohm's reader and check my builds before loading them on the mod I'll be fine?

I personally would not recommend this as your first mech. This is a hybrid mech mod and if you use an atty with too short of a 510 pin on it, it will be a very bad day. I would recommend a mod with a standard 510 connection as your first mech. With a good build and good batteries you will be very happy with the vape you get. Vape safe my friend.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

I agree with you midknight....hate to see so many new mechs that are hybrids, seems like that's all china is pumping out lately. And too many shops barely teaching new vapers anything at all, selling crap batteries, not showing them how to build safely......

I know what you mean, but that isn't even their fault. That's the fault of the FDA and their severely overreaching regulations. Shops aren't allowed to teach anymore. That's what the guy at my favorite local shop was telling me. It's horrible, but true. But as for the crap batteries, I completely agree, and that makes me sick. I'm just glad that I have a good B&M where I live.

A good first tube mech is a Nemesis. Even a copper Vanilla Sky is good.

Say away from hybrid mods.

Buy GOOD batteries. Don't push the limits.

The hybrid shouldn't be a problem at all with that mod so long as you make sure you use it with the atomizer that comes paired with it. If you do purchase it, make sure that the pin at the bottom of the atomizer sticks out (is far from flush with the threaded post). Buy some LG HB2/4/6's if you can. Tried and true 30 amp continuous rated batteries.
Use Steam-engine.org's battery drain calculator to make sure the resistance you're using is below your amp limit. For 30 amp batteries, I feel most comfortable in the 20-25 amp range draw from resistance. Don't let your mod get hot, clean it thoroughly when you can.
I don't see an issue using a hybrid that's sold with a matching atomizer. Like I said though, check that bottom pin. A YouTube reviewer received a test model that had a flush pin and that is HIGHLY DANGEROUS. If you receive one like this, return it or contact the seller for a replacement.
All in all though for $30 it's a steal. Magnetic switch, insulated tube, copper, RDTA/RDA combo? Yes please. I bought one myself.
imrbatteries.com is a great place to get authentic and affordable batteries. They have LG HB 2's for $3.75.
The mod is a pre-order anyhow and will likely take at least a couple weeks to reach you if you order today. Use that time to learn how to safely use a mechanical mod :)

The HB2's? Awesome. I'm planning on buying some when the pre-order is over so I get everything around the same time.
You can read plenty on here about people taking single tube mech's with comparable batteries down below .15, but I wouldn't recommend it. 0.2 should keep you in a safe operating range that won't wreck your batteries longevity, as running your batteries near their amp limit makes them lose capacity over time.
If you decide you like mech's and want more power than the safe range of a single tube, look into series/parallel boxes. I have the Noisy Cricket which is series, at 0.4 ohms I can't imagine ever standing a warmer vape. I think it's equivalent to running a tube at around 0.125 ohms.

Mess around on Steam-engine, you can determine the resistance you should wrap to in order to end up in an amperage draw that you feel safe with. Take that resistance and use their coil wrapping calculator to determine wraps and gauge. Remember, thicker wire will take longer to heat up even at the same resistance.
PM me if you have questions, don't want to clutter this thread too much.
