Aromamizer help with flavor issue

I'm new here. Have been vaping for 7 months started with a subtank mini and moved to using the RBA head. Absolutely ove the rba head. I vape that at 4 wraps of 26 gauge and 24w coil comes out to .5 single coil setup. I also have an iStick 50 watt which performs great on my subtank.

So I moved on and purchased and aromamizer. I figured I couldn't go wrong with less resistance and dual coils. Initial wrap was a 8 wrap 26 gauge dual coil at .5 ohms. Wicked by the guy at the shop. Seemed simple. Flavor wasn't there. So I took it home and tried to do a 7 wrap dual coil with 26 gauge kanthal. Came out at .4 ohms.Vaping at 25 - 30 watts. The vapor production is great but I do not think the taste is on par with the subtank. Is this expected? It has a very funny taste. Also is my iStick 50 watt enough for this tank? Could this be part of my problem? Ramp up seems to be a problem. Once it gets going vapor is crazy good. But flavor is no where near the subtank and leaves a funny taste. I don't even know how to describe the taste.

The mod has been washed with dish soap and then boiled for 2 minutes to account for machine oil.

I'm at work so I can't post pics now nor do I have the device here with me. I know this could be a multitude of things I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this particular problem.

Will post pics at home later tonight. Thanks in advance guys.

For me personally, I had an aromamizer and got rid of it because I wasnt getting the flavor I like out of simple builds. The only thing close was when I did dual 22g kanthal on a 2.5mm jig, 6 wraps 90watts, wanna say it was about .15ohms. It was much warmer than I prefer but thats about the only way I found flavor on a normal horizontal build.

People have had success with claptons and verticle builds but thats not really my style so I traded it for a Billow v2 which I have 4 of now.

That's unfortunate to hear. I am pretty sure the tank is not what I was expecting. I want more flavor not more clouds.

I gave up on mine pretty quickly. I hated the air flow control rubber band things so that also helped in my decision to get rid of it! Lol

There are a lot of good flavor tanks out there, again for me personally, the Aromamizer was not one of them.

I was also looking at the griffin. I wonder if results will be better with that.

Anyone have an opinion who have both?

I have both actually. The griffin is an excellent "builders" tank if that makes sense. Large build deck for big builds. I use 316L stainless in temp control and it works excellent on both the Griffin and Billow v2. I also have two Billow v3s on order.

For me, I like the Billow v2 over the Griffin for mainly the capacity. Flavor wise I think they are damn close if you dial back the airflow on the Griffin and use the 510 drip tip adapter. Griffin is 3.5ml, the Billow is 5ml, however the Griffin has topfill whereas the Billow v2 is bottom fill. The v3 does have a top/side fill so we'll see how it goes when those arrive!

But as always ymmv! Thats just my personal opinion and Im sure others think differently but the Billow v2s have been my go to tanks since they came out. Ive had the aromamizer, crius v3, and the mutation x rta as far as newish tanks. Well, the short of it is I basically only use the Billows and Griffin anymore.

Yes I actually bought a griffin at my local shop today. This tank is exactly what I was looking for. Miles ahead of my subtank. I couldn't resist it. It is amazing.

My aromamizer will be sold if possible because I know I'm wicking it properly and the taste is bad.

I can't believe the difference in the griffin. I'm glad my venture in rta's paid off

And you are right Deeks the tank capacity is a let down. The griffin drinks juice. But the flavor for me is unmatched.

I know the aromamizer has to be a decent tank it's just not what I was looking for.

Got my first Griffin coming. I run my Aromamizer with duel claptons @ 0.28ish. 45-55W.
Using a longer narrow drip tip may help a bit. Mines ok for flavor, but will see when the Griffin gets here
how they compare.

Yeah I popped the drop tip from my subtank on the aromamizer not much difference to me.

Who knows I just could be retarded but I coiled and wicked the griffin easily. The aromamizer may just take some patience but now I have the griffin it will probably sit idle.
