Asking for tank advice again

Hey all

So, I started with the ego one, garbage. Got a kanger nano, leaked. Got another kanger nano, leaked. Got an isub g, leaked.

Now I have a crown. I got it two days ago. I love that it's top filling. It feels like good quality. I'm using the itaste mvp 3.0 pro. My priorities are flavor and a warm vape. I tried the .25 coil and couldn't get a warm vape. Then I tried the .5 coil. It's okay, but I have to go for 60w to get a warm vape, and then it feels like I'm going to burn the o rings off the tank because it gets so hot. The worse problem is that I get almost no flavor. It's gross. Like plain raw tofu.

I was using the isub g at 30w and it was good. Why do I have to go to 60w for the same feeling, and less flavor, with the crown?

Would a rebuild able coil fix my problems with the crown? Will it fix my problems, but then give me the original problem with a leaking tank?

Should I try a different tank again?

I know I could get a better mod to get more flavor. However, it'll be cheaper for me to get a different tank if necessary. I also feel that more battery power is totally unnecessary to me. I actually don't like that much vapour. It pisses my girlfriend off when we are watching tv and she can't see through my clouds. And I'm not that fond of sitting in a foggy room.

I just want a warm vape, good flavor and no leaks. Being able to rewick the coil would be nice too. Top fill isn't necessary, but nice. Any suggestions?

You can get a terrific warm flavorful vape with the Crown RBA using some UD Clapton, or twisted, or whatever normal wire you like... but I've definitely had some leaking issues using the RBA. If you wick it just right it works very well with pretty much no leaking, as long as you bottom fill. I've top filled using the RBA with little to no leaking but it's hit or miss. Sometimes it behaves and sometimes it doesn't.

You may want to try a 1.2 ohm coil before giving up on the Crown. If you can buy just one coil to try it's probably worth a shot. All of the Crown coils seem to perform best with more power than other similar resistance coils. The 1.2 ohm coil run at about 30 watts might be an option for you.

I use it with the smallest air hole. I've also tried it on lower wattage. I don't like a cool vape though.

Perhaps I'll try a 1.2 coil. I'm disappointed to hear about leaking with the rba. Am I going to have leaks with every coil that I rewick myself?

ok
lets talk about the crown
first it has DUAL coils versus the other tanks you mentioned having single coils - that means more watts are needed. the .5 works best for most between 50-60 watts the .25 works best between 60-90 for most

the crown coils have a known issue. they dont taste right at first
step 1 PRIME THE COIL
the crown coils have a metric shit ton of cotton in them. You can take a new coil and fill just the coil with about .5ml of juice AND YOU NEED TO DO THAT BEFORE FIRING IT. other wise you may burn the cotton and then bad taste forever

if you got the coil primed properly you can still get a weak flavor with a nasty off taste to it
THIS IS A QC issue. Some do not have a bad taste and work perfectly from the first push of the fire button.

So i would suggest taking a new coil and priming it, also many suggest starting at about half watts and working your way up to your full wattage over the course of a tank

if it has a funny taste give it a full tank at least to improve. USUALLY the taste issues clear up after the first full tank

The taste isn't funny. It just has very little flavor. It tastes like I filled the tank with water and a drop of juice. I primed the coil really well and started at 15w and worked my way up. I'm on my 4th tank of juice. The flavor isn't nearly as good as the nano or isub, but it's not burnt.

That's unusual. The Crown coils have the best flavor I've ever tasted in an OCC, but as Matt said they need a lot of power. The lowest I go with a .5 ohm coil is 55 watts, and generally around 60-65 watts. They have absolutely no taste if there isn't enough power.

So, if I use a rba coil, it's a single coil, and shouldn't take as much power, right?

I use the .5 coil right now, and at 60w, it's still flavourless.

Something's not right. Do you have another coil to try? You don't by chance have vapor's tongue do you?

The RBA is tricky to wick and get it not to leak or give dry hits, but yes it uses much less power (the stock coil).

It's not vapers tongue, I don't think. I tried another juice and my isub tasted fine.

I can buy a pack of coils, but that's $20, and I'm thinking I just buy a different tank. If I do, I'll have enough points for a free 60ml bottle of juice. I could buy a new tank and be breaking even... Rather than risking wasting more money if it's not the coil.

Any suggestion for a tank that isn't going to leak with a rewicked coil, has good flavor, doesn't need such high wattage and still gives a warm vape?

Am I going to have leaks no matter what I use, if I am rewicking?

So, I guess vaper's tongue, and bad juice was part of my problem. I had been use the first juice in my isub and it tasted fine, but didn't taste like anything when I started on the crown. Maybe it was imagination that it was still tasting flavorful on the isub, towards the end of using the same one for a few days. I tried a different flavor of juice in the crown, which tasted like nothing too, but I guess it was just a crappy brand or something, because I'm now using a third juice that tastes how I expect it to.

So, now I'm pleased with the flavor, lack of leaking, and the top fill. But I am not pleased at having to vape at 60 watts for the same experience as the isub or nano on 30 watts. My mvp 3.0 only lasts me one day now, where it lasted me 2 days on the isub. I would be okay with that if it lasted all day, but I am more than halfway through my battery life right now, and not yet halfway through my day, so it's going to be dead when I am still trying to use it if I don't plug it in. I don't like that I have to hold down the power button before taking a drag, or else it isn't warm enough.

I guess the rebuildable coil will fix my problem, but then I'll be back to the leaking problem.

I ordered the Aspire Triton 2. Hopefully it doesn't have the leaks that the first version had.

If you want a tank where you build your own single coils, the Lemo 2 is something you might like. I have one myself, and haven't had any leaking issues, unless caused by myself (left the air holes open while filling, didn't close the filling port properly). Wrong wicking though, can cause leaking as well. However, I never had a problem with that.

I'll look into that one if the triton 2 fails me. Thanks for the suggestion.

I just got this Smok V4... so far I'm really liking it with the triple coil at 80 watts. I also like the Crown subtanks, seen here with the .25 at 65-70w... I haven't tried the RBA deck yet in either tank because the stock coils hit so well. I also like top filling tanks, no leaks and very easy to refill them. Just my two cents, :)

Oh. I must've overlooked that.. well if he doesn't like the Crown I am going to have a hard time wondering what he would like... Crown probly isn't for everybody but I'm not a tootle puffer either, they are the best tanks I have vaped yet for deep lung hits that keep me going back for more, I wish the OP good luck finding a tank that he likes.
