Just wondering why I'm getting a burning taste hitting at 50 watts?

How old is the coil and what is the pg/vg of your juice?

The coit's are new. Was using .4 ohms but heard u can't use it over 30 to 35 watts. So I switched to .3 ohms

I think I found the problem. After filling the tank with juice. I forgot to close the holes. LOL. Hopefully that was it....

I would say 50 is to high with prebuilt coils and don't forget you have to prime them first. I've got the same tank but been useing the rta with nickle builds. One of the great things with nickle is you never get burnt hits. Only use nickle in temp mode, straight power makes nickle toxic.

Yes I've been priming it first, but I was told .3 ohm coils can take it at those temps

I just know when i first got mine it would start to get burnt around 45 watts. Not right away, usally after a few hits. It should be printed on the coils what watts they recommend.

I bought the 5 pack which comes in a box. On the box it says that .3 ohm coils are good for 70-80 watts and .4 ohm coils are good for 25-30 watts.

I went back to the .4 ohm coil right now and I'm hitting it at 35 watts. Nice vape and tasty...

When I was using the .3 ohm coil I found my tank was getting hotter hitting between 45-50 but the vape was thicker and more of it

I never bought any, just used the ones that came with it. Then bought the rta the next day and have been building them myself ever since. Bought a 50ft role of nickle Ni200 for only 6 bucks. Took a few coils to get the hang of it. Now I build virtical coils 12-13 wraps usally around .14-17 ohms. My only real issue is over or under wicking some times.

I like to keep it simple. I never liked dripping. Too much work for me especially the wick. I like top filling my Triton and vape.

I like to tinker plus it's cheaper to build. The rta is a rebuildable coil for the triton. I have yet to buy a dripper. Only because i would hate to keep adding fluid when the tank last a full day.

Oh OK. I thought you were dripping. Yeah I have used that nickel one yet on my Triton. Is it already setup with wick and everything? Mad I heard its temp controlled coil

Yes nickle should only be used with temp control (tc). Straight power will cause the nickle to oxidize and become toxic. The RTA can be used with any wire so long as it fits and doesn't touch the sides. It's helpfull if your mod reads ohms if not get a ohm tester. I fist started building kath but found nickle easier to build. Plus it taste way better and like i said earlier you never get a burnt hit.

K thanks for the info. After I finish off these regular coils. I'll do some research and give the nickel a try

Accccckkkkk!!!! I finally did this myself. Just finished slowly breaking in a new .3 coil and put it aside for awhile. I always close bottom AFC and spin the fill control to the middle for storage to prevent leaking (never has leaked on me). I open the AFC but forgot the top and took a big nasty burnt hit off it...just broke in the replacement coil and am hitting it at 65W in VW mode, or 420* with the 316L TCR in TC mode on the VS DNA200. Works great with some max VG.
