Changing an update to Windows 7 from 'optional' to 'recommended' had devastating consequences for owners of computers with ASUS motherboards. KB3133977 kills ASUS computers by enabling the unsupported Secure Boot feature -- resulting in a Secure Boot Violation error. Not wanting to leave its customer with unbootable computers, ASUS has spring into action and updated it support pages to provide advice about how to fix a borked Windows 7 PC.
