I bought a while ago what I was told was an authentic Velocity off of an acquaintance online. The serial number on the bottom is 9444. I am now trying to resell it, as an authentic, and was told that there were only 3131 authentics made so mine must be a clone.

Can anyone on here confirm that for me. I did some research on authentics and serial numbers and how many were made and didn't have any luck. Figure there has to be a Velocity pro on here somewhere!!

Dino Ferrari confirmed the 3131 total on FaceBook. I have an authentic V1 serialized in the 3xxx range and was told by Jessica of Avid Vaper that it was part of the final run in early December.

My authentic was purchased from Avid a few months ago, serial #3094. Fwiw. Sorry.

It's likely no comfort to you now, but your buddy is either a liar and a scammer, or they were told it was authentic from the B&M they bought it from and didn't know any better.

This is the ONLY time I have problems with clones. When some POS is trying to pass off a clone for an authentic.
