B&m shops to avoid in your area!

I am sincerely shocked that noone started a thread like this yet. However, it could be useful if you're new, or new to an area. Maybe the vendor will even be able to see them and try to sort things out, who knows?

Anywho, tell us where you hail from, the name of the place, and why you don't think they can be trusted. Good reasons would be along the lines of shady business practices, poor customer service, blood dripping down the walls jthm style (unless they're decals, 9south is a great place and is excluded from that joke), disinfo, etc. Bad reasons would be along the lines of disliking their hair color or their choice of coffee.

Tl;dr no nonsense, just reference, and some ranting of course is natural. I suppose I'll start:

I live in NJ, in the close viscinity of Seaside Heights. There's a place called "Vapors" maybe two blocks away from my apartment... don't go there. Ever. The guy who manages that store may as well write for the NY Times, because the garbage that I've heard come out of his mouth had left me absolutely speechless so many times I opted to drive 20 minutes down to Lacey rather than walk across the street and deal with him. They have their nicotine and flavorings in 2 separate bottles, so you can mix them together when you get home, rather than pay the tax that is definitely coming out soon... (really dude? ) aside from being stupid, that's extremely dangerous... though aside from that, he does nothing but badmouth other places to , ake his shop seem golden.

Example: told me loudly in front of another customer that he refused to even touch my bottle of honey pearry (I had it on the counter and he picked it up to read it, I needed a coil), because online vendors cut their liquids with all sorts of chemicals. Oh, and were you all aware that other vendors cut their liquid with straight palm oil? Or that all aspire tanks are garbage because theyre cheap chinese pieces of junk, and kanger is the only good manufacturer? Or that the slot on an ego battery have nothing to do with airflow? Etc etc etc...

-------

There's also a place in Manchester, I can't remember the name of it but its next to Donovans... she sold my 53 year old father an ego twist without explaining to him what he was buying... I dont know if she told him this or if he just assumed, but I was at a family gathering and he was bragging about the awesome "adjustable airflow" battery he had... I looked at it, stared at him, and kindof went "fucking hell... daddy, come here so I can explain this to you before you hurt yourself..."

Aside from that, the way they conduct business raises nothing but red flags to me. They bash every other shop in the area, to anyone who'll listen. They told my father that gorilla vapes, another shop in the area, gets all of their liquid from china and it has lead in it, even going so far as to bringing up one of gv's "order forms" proving her point. But noone would normally know what she uses in her own, considering she does it in another room while you wait... She claims her juice is the best because her juice is completely, 100% organic.... despite the fact she gets everything from wizardlabs. I know the place next to her that takes in her packages when she isn't open. So far as they know, its the only company that comes in.

I work at a local shop, not a vape shop but a family owned bedding store owned by my friend's parents, whom I've known for years. Small businesses are supposed to help each other, not bash each other, because its not only bad business... it makes people wonder what they're hiding. Which is why I'm adding these 2 to the list. The first guy makes my blood boil just thinking of his smug face, the second... it took me MONTHS to undo that damage. My dads pretty much good to go, I gave with a sentinel m16 and my rsst (and 2 batteries and a charger and my liquid I was dripping at the time... spoiled bastard) then introduced him to another shop by bribing him with free bottles. The rest of my family? I gave up. I dont see them enough to care, really.

I'll leave it at that before going off on another tangent.

AAAAAAAND GO!

I live in st Mary's county maryland. I went to a local tabacco and vape shop in Charlotte Hall md. Ok I know they don't know what they have because they specialize in tobacco and hookahs, but I thought hey they advertise vaping so I might as well stop in. I'm thinking who knows maybe they have some mech clones anything really. All they have is one generic cigalike . So the guy starts talking about how my girls MVP is junk (I left my mod in the car). He says this is what you need pulls out some dry herb vaporizer and tries to sell it to us for 190$. We nicely told him we don't smoke herb and he said oh you can smoke anything in this. Long story short I wasted 15 min listening to this guy who didn't know anything. Btw looked up the dry herb thing online to see how much his mark up was and could have bought it online for 55$ at the first place I saw it on. I feel places like this is gonna give vaping a bad name.

I have the same thing in my small town, only thing here is a tobacco place that has gotten into the vaping craze because he saw $$$ but non of his staff including him knows anything about anything from the vaping world. He sells a spinner kit and I think 1 or 2 tanks and a bunch of china liquid. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with making a buck but I feel if your going to sell something you should know about it.
I did try to get him to put up a poster about the FDA and letting vapers know what is going on and alsa he didn't know anything and didn't want to so I just left, shaking my head thinking, it's your buisness buddy, if you don't care, I can't make you.
Now I tell everyone I talk to about vaping to go online to shop and give them web sites to go to.
I just wish we had a" Real" shop here so they could see how it should be, there are a lot of people switching that have no idea what's really out there.

I live in the Northern Kentucky area. In Florence, there's a shop called, evocatively enough, "Ecig" which is located about 50 feet away from a K-12 and has barely more square footage than my Toyota Corolla. I will not go there, but a friend told me that when he went in there the owner was advising people to stack their batteries (in series mind you) in their mechs while selling new vapers everything they needed to do exactly that. They also sell those horrible simple flavors like "cherry" and "cola" and no blends or anything even remotely interesting or palatable.

Damn, I wish I lived close enough to a vape shop to have one to hate or love. Consider yourselves somewhat lucky to even have one, good or bad...
Moral of this post...

at least you got one you can complain about....
I am stuck online, which is not bad, just would be nice to see people and have someone to talk to live ...
even if it is BS, I may be able to sit them straight or not...

While there is a chain of head, umm tobacco, shops in the area that carry eGo clones and clearomizers there really isn't anything else in my part of the world either. Last time I went there they added a huge selection of dry herb atomizers and a line of mix it themselves e-liquid. Watching the guy grab a 0 nic and 24 nic bottle and eyeball a 12 nic bottle for my purchase didn't make me really want to go back.

So I'll second the envy of having a place to complain about, that'd be nice.
