This series has been filling in various gaps leading up to the events of the Arkham Knight game. With this newest issue, writer Pete Tomasi answers the question of how Batman acquires his swanky new Batmobile. If that were all issue #4 set out to do, it wouldn't be much of a comic. Luckily, Tomasi finds ample room for fun and adventure along the way.
The first of the three chapters collected in this issue is easily the most enjoyable, as it features Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox traveling to Europe for a mix of fundraising and car shopping. This series has done a great job of spotlighting characters who don't normally receive much attention in the games, and this issue is no exception. The dynamic between the two characters is a hoot, and the sight of Batman villains and screaming in German is certainly memorable. Guest artist Robson Rocha renders it all with a dynamic quality I only wish this segment lasted a bit longer. It might have been nice to see Bruce's failed attempts at raising funds to restore Gotham rather than simply hearing about it after the fact.
