A preview of Batman/Superman #9 reveals Batman’s new Batmobile sporting a design that harkens back to Batman: The Animated Series. Revealed by series writer Joshua Williamson on Twitter (and spotted by CBR), the new car was drawn by artist Clayton Henry and colorist Alejandro Sánchez. Check it out below:
As you can see, the new Batmobile shares many similar design elements with the one from the beloved ‘90s cartoon: the sleek body, single rear turbine jet engine, sliding roof cockpit, and those signature engine exhaust vents.
Of course, some new elements have been added, like a new slate gray paint job, red window tint, and a Batman-esque faceplate with headlights for eyes. But even with these updates, the car still very much evokes the BTAS Batmobile. For the full details on this issue, check out the solicitation information from DC Comics below: BATMAN/SUPERMAN #9
