Battery Safety Question

Ok, so I'm using an unregulated mosfet type box mod with 2 LG HE2 18650's which have a constant current rating of 20A, and I'm using them parallel in my mod.
Using Steam Engine, it tells me that if I make my coils to equal 0.2 ohms, it would draw 21 amps when the batteries are at their max voltage, which is above the 20A continuous current rating. I know the vendors claim the pulse current rating for these batts is 35A, but I'm trying to keep it safe. Would I still be good to go because I'm using batts in parallel and it's splitting that current between 2 batteries, or would going as low as 0.2 ohms be borderline dangerous? Is it ok because those batts aren't going to stay at 4.2V for very long and once they get below that max voltage I won't be drawing more than the rated current?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Build slightly higher and don't fret about it.
Even if everything was manufactured correctly, stuff can still happen.

Just make sure you marry the batteries, and alternate usage on them to keep them even. ie. a and b one time and b and a another.
As you build sometimes lower is not better, slightly higher and cooler with some massive airflow.

you have the cushion to play around as long as your atty can handle it.

Thanks for the replies folks, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to melt my face off with exploding batteries or something.

I hadn't thought of swapping their position as I put them in, I had just married them as "Pair A and Pair B" when I labeled them. I'll relabel them to make it easier to make sure I swap which one goes in which side of the sled. Thanks!

Ohm meter and a good 1 amp charger will ease your mind a bit.

I'd watched enough videos on coil building before starting to make my own to know to always ohm the whole thing out before putting it in the mod and firing. Pretty much every video and how to I checked out before starting had hammered on that point. As for a charger, I picked up a Nitecore Intellicharger I2 which seems to have plenty of good reviews and the right specs for charging my batts. I'll likely have to pick up a larger one if I ever start picking up more mods and batts though.

I personally went with the nitecore 4 bay. But then again I was going through batteries like a fat kid at a buffet.

Yeah, I'll likely end up picking up a 4 bay later down the road as I start picking up more mods with changeable batts. The self built unregulated one I'm using now is the first one I started using with changeable batts. The other two I've started with are sealed mods that you plug a cord into.

I have the nitecore d4 digicharger and I love it! It displays lots of good info and it's cheap!

Very true. 2 batteries venting is worse than one! Don't short the thing!
