Hey Folks,

Is ejuice me up really the best tool out there to use when measuring DIY recipes? I have had some oddness with it when trying to use it (its prolly me being a n00b). I've heard of other ways to do DIY including weighing the ingredients. What do most folks use?

Wow - go to work and the thread takes off :)

@Elites Thanks for the nice welcome and no dis against ejuice me up at all - as I mentioned, I am pretty sure that the minor issues I had were totally user error and my version of the software is quite old. I will upgrade :) Thanks for the link

@Neunerball Good point on the availability of the calculator - I will bookmark it for sure. Also nice tips on the discounts for flavors - I, myself just bought a bunch of flavors on a great INW sale but I still need flavors that appear to be staples of DIYing. Saving $ = awesome.

@Squonk Thanks for the link re mixing by weight - I have to admit I am really wanting to try mixing by weight after trying to mix a few things by the drop.

@gingerbread Thanks for the nice welcome - welcome to you as well :) I am also just getting set up to DIY. I would love to be able to exchange notes with you at some point in the future :) Maybe we can help each other out!

Thanks for all the replies and info. Everyone here is so nice and helpful!

@cinnful - welcome to vu! yes mixing by weight is probably the easiest .. I started using syringes to measure everything.. what a pain.. lol

once you get the scale working and get familiar with your calculator of choice, I'm sure you will be pleased with the results.

goes to .001 & is also 'price cool' ... I don't really 'NEED' it... but might have to grab it someday... haha

Just fyi, that level of precision ( 0.001 ) is only in play when in ounce mode; when in gram mode it's 0.01 so no different than the one you already have.

I will be DIYing soon. From my research and others comments weighing is quicker and more accurate, also less clean up.
Also a big welcome to VU:wave:

The nice thing about weighing is there is little concern for drop size. While with ejuice me up you can change the drop size, (if you know what drop size you are dispensing ) it's a bunch more "paperwork".

Another quote for me l see, lol. Sir Isaac Newton was British. Sir lsaac Newton is turning in his grave because you did not address him as "Sir" and spelt yes l said spelt "enquiring" with an "I",which is outrageous! - Only joking Ron, take care

. Sir lsaac Newton is turning in his grave because you did not address him as "Sir"

Maybe he said that before getting knighted? :D

Oh well, that's what I get for doing the copy & paste thing with quotes.;)

Omg thats so funny - I put that very model in my wish list ! Along with this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004164SR...olid=1H5P776PDGBI1&coliid=I3JTIHLC8Z8Q4&psc=1

haha.. I like the look of that one you posted ..altho it appears that the smallest unit of measurement for it is 1.0 Grams .. which of course would NOT be useful for DIY.. make sure what ever you get will measure down to .01 grams or better, like the one i listed or one of these two... :)
