Been trying to find the best set up for flavor in this RTA.
Wire, resistance, wicking styles.

Anyone have a favorite?

I've tried it with 24 gauge, both vertical and 2.5mm horizontal. I like the horizontal the best. I never really got great flavor, but it was good at 62 watts. Oh I cut the wicks so that they where just touching the deck.

Thanks bwent. Got some good info from another thread on this page. Using SS 24g on 2.5 @ 0.26ohm. (horizontal) In Wattage mode on my RX200.
Had the same build in Vertical with about the same results.
May just take some time to break in and I find the "sweet spot".

I use a 24g nichrome build the Griffin that may be good in the Aromamizer too..10 wraps on a 3mm bit/organic cotton/.28 ohms at 65w produces superb flavor and good clouds...just thought I'd throw it out there..

Have not tried any Nichrome builds yet. Just Kanthal, SS, Ti. Might be time to try Ni.

I really like mini fused Claptons on the Aromamizer. I wrap 2x28gNi80 in 36gKa1 about 7 wraps on a 2.5mm bit. Horizontal of course for flavor. Dual coils will hit around .25. Excellent vape. Very much like a dripper.

Used Clapton set up at those ohm specs in Vertical on my Fishbone. Tried it in the Aromamizer but was not impressed.
Will give it another try in Horizontal. Thanks

Chiming in here, even if the thread has been dead for a little more than a month at this point...

I was trying all sorts of vertical builds, but the end result was always the same. No matter how I tried wicking my vertical builds, I would end up getting less flow to the top of the wick, which ended up in a less-than-desirable flavor. On top of that, I also noticed that I would get the occasional leak out of one of the four air holes.

What ended up working for me was to run a single spaced coil (6 wraps) using 24ga kanthal, passed between the posts. Airflow isn't as much as verticals would allow, but I think this allows for airflow straight up through the center, around the coil, and up into the chimney. Flavor is now rich, even at 30-35W, and sometimes tops what I can get out of my authentic Plume Veil 2.0 using SS wire. Even my cheapie juices from a local shop now have great flavor, which is quite surprising.
