Best sub ohm tank?

I need a high wattage sub ohm tank compatible with my rx200. I already have the crown and the herakles. Currently using the tfv4 mini with my rx200, but it read atomizer low on the screen. I looked it up and apparently it messes up the 510 connector. So I don't want to use them together any longer. I want something for clouds and flavor.
Thank you! :)

If you already have the Crown, I've read good things about the Wotofo Steam Engine - and the coils are supposed to last longer than the Crown (which I love)!

Other than crown- that I've tried - the herkales and cleito

People seem to be getting away from the sub ohm tanks. One that did look interesting was the CCI mouse tank. Nick Green reviewed in last week and said it was one of the best cloud and flavor tanks out there. Haven't tried it my self but he gave it a glowing review.

Wotofo Steam Engine is hands down my favorite tank, skip the ribbon wire coil though and just use the parallel or clapton coil. It is actually a little smaller than the Crown but holds 6ml of juice. The flavor and clouds is just as good if not better than the Crown, all around the steam engine is a great tank.

I would also recommend the Aspire Cleito, really good performing tank and really airy if you run it wide open. Performance wise it is on par with the other 2 tanks I mentioned, looks wise it pales in comparison to the Steam Engine.

Those are the 3 tanks I use the most often although I do own the TFV4 full size and mini, Mutank, Arctic, OBS T-VCT, Kanger subtank and Herakles Plus. I do really like the Herakles Plus as well and it is the only tank I use in TC as it works a lot better for me that way.

Out of all these tanks though if I could only pick one it would be an easy choice, the Steam Engine.

I suggest the Vaporesso tank with their ceramic coils. Reasonably priced and fantastic flavor and more than enough vapor.

It doesn't look like they're out yet, but they've been posting threads on other forums asking what people are expecting for the cleito. Maybe you can use another tc coil that is compatible with the cleito. I'll see which ones, if there are any

I am seriously cautious about using this product. Even though the company says they are safe, but seeing numerous articles on how fragile the ceramic is, I would much rather inhale SS with cotton and lose flavor than to risk getting ceramic material in my lungs.

I never knew that, I was so close to buying the cleito but I got the arctic instead. I even like bottom fill better. But that's my opinion. The only thing I like about topfill is that it's more convenient, but I had such bad leaking issues with topfill. I haven't since I figured out a technique for my herakles plus.

As for Herakles Plus, try filling it to about 80% rather than topping it off, in addition to the usual advice.

For tfv4, i tried quad Clapton and it is still working about 25 days later. If it stops working with rx200 as has been reported, I will put the tank on a different box.

Or you could get a Coral, using either tfv4 or Coral coils.

I see good feedback on Council of Vapor tanks, like the Vengeance.

I figured out a better way to top it off, It irritates me when I can't do that. What I do is, close the air flow completely, fill it, flick it, vape on closed airflow for about a minute then open in 20%, so you don't flood the coil

Juice flow*** for each time I said airflow, sorry! I never close my airflow and it never gave me a problem

But as for the tfv4, I didn't want to have to replace my 510 connector(because I'm not good at that kind of stuff lol) so I just got a new tank

I've tried the Herakles, Crown and currently have the Cleito. I think the Cleito beats the other two without a doubt. Everything is subjective, but for me, it's great.

I haven't tried the cleito, what stopped me from getting it because it only goes up to like 80w(or around there).I like to have the opportunity to go up to a higher wattage. I never go past 70 though

Yeah, the Cleito's performance is hard to knock. I personally like the .4 ohm coil over the .2, only because they perform about the same but I can run the .4 at lower watts to conserve the battery. I am also having a hard time finding a good deal on the Cleito coils, using the .2 ohm now but not as happy with it.

Right now I have the .5 ohm coil on my Crown, it is blah compared to the cleito. With the .25 coil though I have gotten excellent performance with it using the IPV5 over my RX200 or Stout, I don't know why, must be that the Yihi chip has a faster ramp up at higher wattages but the Crown really performs with the .25 ohm coil on the IPV5 at about 60 watts. I even took it up to 100 watts, not something I do with any other tanks and while it was too hot of a vape for me but it still rocked.

My preference is still for the Steam Engine though, mainly for the thick, cool and tasty clouds at 45 watts with the parallel coil. I am not into hot vapes even though I sometimes get carried away with my Crown and Cleito. The Clapton coil on the Steam engine is my favorite coil and at .7 ohms it performs well in the 30 watt range for me. With it's 6ml capacity I can take it on the road and not have to worry about refilling it, can't say the same for the Crown and Cleito, lower capacity and a lot more juice hungry.

I'll just be straight up honest about this one. The best Vape for me with the tastiest clouds EVER is the OG Arctic tank with their nickel coils. The airflow on the arctic tank is so smooth and wide open and the flavor simply can't be beat. If your looking for a really great Vape at a real cheap price ( it's been around so long now ) this would be my #1 recommendation!!!!

Your not going to get some BETTER than you already have. It sounds like you can't build your own coils. If you can get the Griffin, Gemini, Or some ppl like the aromizer. Otherwise stick with what you have imo.

I don't like hot vapes either, but I love my flavor and moderate clouds. The Crown .5 coils suck, flavor is sub par and burn out fast. I have much better flavor and luck with the .25 coils, but I only run about 35w for a comfortably warm vape. My favorite by far is COV's Vengeance with the .2 coils @30w. Warm and super tasty. I was just debating getting a Herakles V2 as it seems the shorter tanks have better flavor. A lot depends on the coils as well though. I might have to try the Steam Engine now though....hmmm. I can't make up my mind yet...will have to read some more reviews first I guess. So far a tie between the two.

The COV Vengeance is a tank I have been contemplating, a good friend got the mini version though and he wasn't impressed so that is what stopped me. Funny you mentioned the .25 ohm crown coils, I just placed an order for more 2 minutes after your reply, the best coils for the crown for sure.

I want to mention that I would recommend getting the Steam Engine from a US vendor, my SS came from the US but I got my black steam engine from fasttech and the tolerances are not as tight. With how long it took for fasttech to ship out and a couple of differences in the packaging in the back of my mind I think I might have gotten a clone. Even though it still works great but not as good as my SS version I ordered from VaporDNA in the US. Maybe the black version was slightly modified but I notice the juice control and airflow control is not as precise in the machining, having both I can tell the difference. I still use both everyday though along with the Crown, the Cleito is sidelined until I find a real good deal on the 0.40 ohm coils, pricey and don't last as long.

I know mt baker vapor and vape wild both carry the Steam Engine and both have decent coupons from time to time. I just checked and yeti vape has a deal on the steam engine with 120ml of the juice for a good price, I personally really liked there R.T.I. Papa Style, would still order that if I didn't start DIY.

Thank you for the heads up. I diy now too, but I did take advantage of Yeti's last buy one get 2 free deal. I love their Nuclear Nut Butter and hadn't bought premade juice in about 7 months. And their is no mini version of the Vengeance that I'm aware of? There is a mini COV Defiant that comes with their volt, and then a regular Defiant, which I also have and it's good, but I like the Vengeance better. The ceramic coils that come with the Defiant have excellent flavor, but burning the mouth hot even at 30-35w by the 3rd draw. But it's backwards compatible with the Vengeance coils, so I use those in it. Off too see if I missed the mini somewhere ;) Already only holds about 2.5mls, but it's worth filling for the quality and flavor. And can't beat $20 for 10 coils. or $17 for 10 on the last sale :D I'm a tightwad with buying vape stuff, maybe after wasting so much money on analogs for so many years?

My friend got the tank that came with the volt so it must be the one you're referring to, luckily he is married or I would question his manhood having such a small mod.....lol.

With the Steam Engine, Crown and Cleito I guess I don't have a lot of reasons left to get another tank, hoping there will be something revolutionary soon. I also have the Herakles Plus, OBS T-VCT, TFV4 (both versions), Mutank, Subtank and arctic. I actually have no problems using all my tanks but the first 3 I mentioned are the performance leaders by far.

I've used the Clieto and thought it was a nice tank, though I wouldn't use it a real high wattage. I tried the .2ohm coil up to about 65 watts and it got extremely hot. Liked the .4ohm coil a whole lot more. Another tank to consider is the Mutank. I believe it came with two pre-built coils, which I didn't try, and has a very nice velocity style build deck available if you decide to try your hand at rebuilding. Just checked on VaporDNA and the pre-built coils seem to review well and are available in twisted or clapton style. Not a bad price either at $13 bucks for 5 pack.

The problem with the Mutank and the pre-built coils is it is a tight draw compared to the Cleito, Steam Engine and Crown. The Mutank is better when you use it as a RTA but the pre-builts are booty compared to the other 3 I mentioned.

Thanks for info on the Mutank coils. Mine are currently sitting in the box and based on your feedback I'm not likely to ever actually try them.

So just picked up the COV Defiant which has ceramic coils, Steam Crave 6ml Aromamizer RTA and Wotofo Ice Cube RDA. The defiant is a nice tank but wow, talk about bacon lips at 44 watts. Got the defiant because I wanted to try ceramic coils and knew it would work with vengeance coils if the ceramic was booty. The flavor is nice with the defiant but not a game changer for sure, still prefer my steam engine with clapton coils and my lips thank me for that.
I got a deal on the Aromamizer which came with the velocity deck but also 2 OCC pre-built coils. So far have only used the pre-built coil and it is a nice tank, according to my bud though is really comes to life using the velocity deck and clapton coils, that will be next.
The Ice Cube, although being an RTA, is my favorite of the 3 so far after 2 days. Love that it is a top airflow so I can get 30 drops in it and no leaking. Put dual claptons in it at 0.25 ohms and it has brought my love of RDA's back......until I get lazy again.....lol.

From what I know now I would skip the COV Defiant, the better choice would be the Cleito with the 0.40ohm coils for me. The better choice over those 2 would be the Steam Engine, still my favorite tank. You can't go wrong with the Crown either as long as you use the 0.25 ohm coils.

I do like the Aromamizer but wouldn't pick it over the Steam Engine, Celito or Crown in that order if using the pre-built coils. The Aromamizer like most true RTA tanks I am guessing will be great with a great build.

Just an update on the COV Defiant tank and the bacon lips issue. I didn't know it but a friend of mine told me there is a rubber gasket on the drip tip I can take off which opens up the outer air holes to keep the tip cooler, wow if it doesn't work great. I still prefer my Steam Engine but if you want a ceramic coil tank the COV Defiant is real nice and will be added to my rotation of tanks I use daily.

It looks like the highest coil only goes up to 70w? I vape around 75-80, is there any high wattage sub ohm tanks that are good for clouds and flavor?

Jamie :)

I am not really a high wattage vaper, the highest I usually go is about 70 watts with the Crown tank but I know it can take even more power. I like the Steam Engine because I can vape around 40 to 50 watts and get a ton of flavor and clouds, I can't say it gets better with the Crown at 70 watts, just more hot.

As mjag says, the Crown is a good option - I believe the 0.25 ohm coils go up to 120 watts. Although I run them around 65! I believe the TFV4 also has high wattage coils, but I don't have one, so I can't comment further on that.

I have both of them and the herakles lol. The crown is my favorite by miles. I used to say my herakles was. But that was because my crown was leaking so I bought the herakles. I had leaking issues with that one but fortunately, I mastered not letting my tanks leak. So I bought coils for my crown and have been using it again. I love it so much. I honestly think the flavor tastes shitty in the herakles and I tried the tc ones, 315L.. It just doesn't taste good to me. I'm trying to find a tank better than the crown. But so far it seems like nothing does as of right now.

Jamie :)

Yeah, the TFV4 has high wattage coils, usually with the triple coil goes up to 130 watts and the new quadruple clapton goes up to 150 watts. I personally don't like those coils, there are 3 and 4 airholes through the coils but the draw is still tighter than the Crown and Steam Engine. I have both the full size and mini TFV4 and both of those are gathering dust. If I do use them I wind up using the Clapton dual coil or the new SS coil, they both only have a single hole for the coil but it is larger in diameter so I get better air flow.
