Big Flavor Difference

I just never really liked the Smok TFV4 that much until recently. I ordered some Clapton coils for it and the flavor was greatly improved but there was still something that I did not like. Today, while watching the NFL Playoffs, I decided to replace the original double barreled drip tip with one of my Trinity glass Copa tips and bingo, I found the perfect flavor combo for me. I couldn't believe how much difference the drip tip substitution made on the flavor of this tank. I never really liked the original because it was noisy and I felt like it was robbing me of flavor. This may not be the case for everyone but combining the coils and the tip changed my whole outlook on this tank and I am going to be using it exclusively on the Reuleaux DNA200. I am glad I can join the others that really like this tank. I am running in wattage mode at 65 watts and the flavor is great.

That's so funny you should say this, I put the TFV4 tip on my Crius (as opposed to the glass) and think the flavor is better. That subjective taste thing....lol!

Trinity glass copa.....I'm gonna look that up, I think it would look pretty sharp on the Crius.....

It's a shame that lame looking tip is necessary for your satisfaction. But then again, all vape stuff looks kinda stupid.

Don't knock it till you try it. I found out about the Copa tip while watching a Rip Trippers video and ordered one. I have since bought two more because they are that good. I didn't notice that I had the tip on a little cockeyed when I took the photo but trust me it's a good one. Best tip I have used and have them on my tanks that I use the most. I let a friend or two try them and they ended up ordering their own. I found some knockoffs on Ebay at about a quarter of the price and ordered a couple to try but I haven't received them yet so the jury is still out.

Well, they're very nice but $22 for a drip tip isn't in the budget right now. But the clones I just ordered from Fasttech are.....:D
Let me know how you like them. I have a couple coming that I found on Ebay that are knockoffs also. I also believe that $22 is pricey but I really enjoy the tip. Maybe the clones will be just as good.

Actually $22 was the cheapest I found for authentic, some sites were $30 or more. But if I really like something and it serves me as well as those tips serve you, I have no qualms paying a higher price. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. ;)

Curious, did you run the TFV4 tip with the holes open or closed? I don't notice much difference between my other tips and the TFV4 one when it's closed. Though the only reason I like it is it seems to have prevented the juicy lip issue where the buildup on the inside of the tip drips out, instead of going in my mouth with the TFV4 one it falls down into the gap usually. Other than that yeah a slight advantage to my other tips but not much.

I prefer mine with the tip closed and tank air flow wide open. Open airflow on the tip cut the flavor to me.

Absolutely, when I first got a tank with the secondary airflow I learned that all it does is dull the flavor which makes sense. I asked mainly because he said it was noisy which makes me think it was open at least a little and whistling or something.

That whistle drove me nuts! But it lets me know to check the airflow....lol!

I didn't like the tip air flow open and I usually run the bottom airflow about 3/4 open or wide open. I really haven't had much problem with juice buildup but if I did I would just clean the tip.

Yeah, I end up getting a wet lip every 15 mins or so when I'm just hanging watching a movie and vaping, then I run a q-tip down in and it's good for a while. With the TFV4 one though I clean it every few days. I will say most of my other tips are small bore, I like the small bore stuff better in general maybe wide bore doesn't have that same issue as much? Anyways the TFV4 one all closed up works fine for me :), I was just curious if you kept it closed as you mentioned the noise.

I really don't understand why anyone would want that style of additional air though. I've seen it mentioned that it's to cool a warm vape down, but just turn your wattage down if it's too hot! A lower wattage will still be more satisfying than the overly airy result you get from these drip tip airflow additions. The only reason I like the TFV4 one is for the reason I gave above, the airflow I just use to blow out any of that built up juice (it's surprising how much is in there sometimes).

I got this yesterday, and HOLY SMOKES!! This is an eBay clone and the flavor is fantastic! If the authentics are any better, I don't know if I could stand it....lol! Thanks for the tip!

Glad you are enjoying it. I picked up a couple of clones too and they are very good. The only real difference that I could see with mine is that they are a little taller than the original but for the price difference that is not an issue for me.
