Big Red Gum

I love that Big Red Spicy cinnamon gum. I did a shake and vape on this, it may spice up more as it steeps. The only flavor I might mess with in this is the Catalan cream.

Big Red Gum
4% TFA Cinnamon Red Hots
1% TFA Cinnamon spice
1% FA Catalan cream
.25% FA Caramel
.25% FA Vanilla bourbon
.25% - .5% FA Meringue
.25% TFA Brown sugar extra

I tried a 3variations of this one....the tfa red hots is so strong that it didn't make much of a difference. I like the top 3 flavors as written. I seem to be the only person on earth who finds tfa red hots leaves a bitter taste in my mouth....so I began to mess with it to sweeten it up a bit. 3% red hots wasn't spicy enough. I also upped each flavor by .25% and didn't notice a change in flavor. I also tried leaving out the vanilla bourbon, caramel, and tfa brown sugar extra...but then a little to bitter to me.

The only thing I would change personally is upping the meringue to .5% You can add sweetner if that is your thing, and you find you want it sweeter.

If it is not spicy enough add more red hots.

I'm glad you cleared that up, because my next question was in regard to why your tongue was stuck to a bus window.

Wllmc, my daughter's husband just stopped smoking and started vaping again. He likes red hots at 7%, but then again he puts hot sauce on everything he eats! I have never had fa cinnamon, as my first order was tfa and it lasts me forever...so not sure on the difference, but have always subbed it for fa cinnamon in recipes. When I first started vaping I tried red hots...everyone raves about it, but it was so bitter to me. I didn't want a super sweet, but not bitter. As I was messing around with %'s, I put some in with Hics snickrerdoodles recipe....not bad. I then extracted out the cookie( this took a while) lol. I decreased %'s and added red hots and wowlah! Do I have to steep game on? My package came yesterday and am way excited!! I'm in love with you and Mrs.C! I hope that don't make you feel uncomfortable. Lol!

Since you like the red hots, did you try @Cramptholomew's Pomberry Trinkets? It has Pomegranate, too. I bet you'd like that one. It's delicious!

I did! And Hics candy Apple! Daughter's husband loved both, but had to up red hots to 7% for him. I just got a bitter taste from my 1st bottle of red hots...so I didn't care for those vapes, but my 2nd bottle isn't so bitter so I'm remixing them to try! If still bitter to me I now know what to add...a little Brown sugar & meringue & perhaps cinnamon.

Um, well, I was letting it steep and gave it to my son in law. Gotta see if he has some left. Shake n vape, I'd say it's perfect. Sorry, I'll make another to steep. I have empty bottle now. I was sick with sinus infection & then stomach bug so didn't due much past week.

Big Red:
10% Cherry (TFA)
2% Cinnamon (TFA)
5% Bubblegum (TFA)

That simple lol.

10% of ANY Cherry would kill a cockroach.
TFA Bubblegum doesn't taste anything like Bubblegum.

Saw your other post with 20% Strawberry, 10 Sweet Cream, OMG, ROFLMAO.
You ain't got a clue dude, or you don't even have a single taste bud left.

I just hope no one else pays any mind to your recommendations.

My apologies, I felt I was merely commenting on my own observation in personal taste. My apology to the OP, also, for the temporary thread derail. I would still like to know if she found her favorite version on her recipe.

Hey guys!!! Steeping a new batch. I tried leaving out caramel and vanilla...needs caramel. I'd say big red it a bit more sugary. Thinking maybe .5% on the meringue. I think the Catalan cream is adding the gooiness of gum. I'm just not sure what time will do, so I'll be reporting back in a week and then again in 2 weeks. I have a few variations in steep mode! Tongue still numb:p and loving it!

Aww Huck, any who know you would no you wouldn't mean to offend anyone. We should be able to all state our opinions. And I think @Heabob was only doing the same. I'll tell you I've tried some recipes and spent money on flavors for it before and wished I hadn't. I think Heabob was warning people on that % of cherry to be careful in a funny way, but I guess we all have different senses of humor, and personalities, some more easily offended than others...yadda yadda.

I just hate to see people being misled by newcomers, and posting recipes in someone elses' thread.
He should have started his own thread.
And new Vendors posting recipes just seems kind-of "troll-ish".
I was being serious, but am truly sorry to the OP for the disruption.

Too overly protective I suppose.

I had that "sticking up for me" thought in my head too. . Thank you heabob. You're my new big brother! You shouldn't apologize for sticking up for your little sis. That's what big brother's are supposed to do! The cockroach analogy was funny!

Hey D just coming to update this. I did have time to try this the other day and I really enjoyed the recipe as posted.
ThAnks. Did u use fa or tfa Cinnamon? I haven't ordered fa yet as I was gonna finish tfa first. What is the difference between the 2? And is tfa red hots bitter to you? Vaping your cherry pie. That is one awesome sweet and tart baked cherry! So fine!

I use TFA Cinnamon Red Hots with TFA Sweetener for my ADV and can't say that I have noticed a bitter flavor to it and I'm running at 14%/7% :)

My current issue with the TFA CRH right now is that last time I got it directly from TFA and got the alcohol based version and it is making the juice cloudy. I talked to the owner about it and figured out that the previous batch I got from Wizard Labs was most likely PG based instead of alcohol like I thought. Still not real comfortable with it though so just decided that I'm going to replace it.

Figure better safe than sorry.

FWIW, I find that mine tastes like Big Red simply by upping the Sweetener to 10%. I don't seem to have much luck with the more complicated recipes, but I like strong flavors as you might be able to tell...

Too funny, I usually do 7% tfa. Red hots and people thought I was nuts! Mine is of based. . No one but I seem to get a bitter taste. I use flavors to sweeten. Nice we are all different or the world would be quite lame.

That's what makes DIY so nice. It can be frustrating at times, but once you get a mix you like then you save a ton of money and taste frustration :)
