Builds taste awful need advice

I have 2 RDAs (alliance V2 and velocity V2) and a RTA ( aromamizer with velocity deck) that I switch back and forth on daily. Run all of them duel coil between a 2-3mm in diameter with 6-8 wraps reading around 0.2-0.1ohms and wick all of them with cotton bacon. I've been vaping on all of them now for a few months and the experience was excellent until now. I went to rebuild all of them because the coils were pretty beat up and now every single RDA and tank I have taste awful. I'm not sure how to really discribe the taste, it's not metal tasting or burnt, maybe a little cotton taste because I keep rebuilding them trying to fix them so I always have cotton so I guess all I can say is it just tastes really bad. I'm using the same max VG .3 nicotine juice I've always used I just can't seem to figure out why this is happening. Also I've washed them several times and haven't had any luck with making it better. and I've also noticed that all my juice is turning a dark color while in the addy and when that happens for maybe 2 hits after a drip it tastes great then like shit after that so I drip again.

I'm expecting you're using too much cotton, thus the wick is choked at/in the coils. Therefore, it can't transport the juice quick enough to the coils. This is also confirmed by you describing being able to take two good hits, after dripping, as well as the juice turning dark (caused by the cotton getting toasted in the coil).

In addition if possible, use a 2.5 to 3 mm ID. The 2 mm seems a bit too small, also causing wicking problems, thus causing the dry hits.
