If you have an older device with a built-in YouTube app, it may no longer be functioning.
Google recently announced that the second version of YouTube's data application programming interface would no longer work on older devices as of Monday, April 20. These devices include the first generation iPad, any smartphone device older than an iPhone 4, and any second-generation Apple TVs and older.
PCWorld reports users of these older devices may still be able to access the app for a little while longer, although warnings will be alerting people of its impending shutdown. First-generation iPads running iOS 5.1.1 should still run the application.
