It's possible that your nic level isn't accurate. Do you use a juice calculator?

Also, what tank are you using? 80% VG doesn't always wick well in tanks (except the newer subohm tanks), so perhaps you're getting dry hits?

VG nic also can get "hot pockets" because VG is thick and nicotine isn't. Before you add nic to your recipe mix up your nic by rolling it on your table or in your hands. You don't want to shake and get more air into the nic as that will degrade it. Something to try...

I always use newer subohm tanks and drippers. It is definately not a dry hit, I have had plenty of those and know what that's like. I am using a juice calculator and the Strawberry Banana doesn't seem to bother me ... just weird. Thanks for the info.

I never thought about that and will give it a try. Thanks

Warm the VG/PG mix before mixing it.
The flavor % could be a bit on the high side.

OR you could have a bit o warm bathing to mellow the flavors a hair.

I have been using a microwave steep for 8-10 seconds. I reduced the flavor % since last time I used 2 of the ingrediants but may still be too much.. Thanks

WELL YOU NEED TO DO A PROCESS OF ELIMINATION
start with just a ml or so of just your pg/vg base
and vape it
if that is fine
then a ml or 2 of base with flavoring

if that is fine its your nic

I need to ask where did you get your VG and PG from.
I know some PG has a VERY harsh bite, it is not the best quality for use.
Same with some VG.

Yes can be pg, vg, and nic, some places sell old, china, or just cheap. I go through wizard labs they have to have highest standards because they sell to Johnson & Johnson. Smooth and crystal clear. Use a good calculator I use juice me up it is easy and very accurate. And in most cases % for flavors keep low .5 to 5%.

I had a friend that told me about Wizard Labs and he has never had any problems. I may try juice me up and see if it makes a difference. E-Juice Lab seems like a good app.

I almost bet it is the WL nic.. it can be seriously peppery and harsh.

If you find the harsh is from the nic solution we can direct you to a less harsh supplier.

some people do have serious issue with WL nic

It was teh first nic I used. And I had no issue with it, but I ordered some vaperstek and could notice a slight difference.
it could be several things
even if it turns out to be your nic
it may not just be the nic is no good for you
it could be that its got hot spots
or you accidentally added too much
or you may find with less pg its fine

I tried river when they first opened and it did have the peppery flavor also it had a yellow tinge to it. I changed one time to it and my customers had a fit,
The wizard never has that peppery flavor because they make it per order. Now one time I kept a small 500 mil bottle and when I opened it, it that had maybe tablespoon left over that had the peppery smell but that had been sitting for 8 months after I was finished with it. The so called peppery taste and smell comes from old age. This is why it is important to make it per order. In fact there were only two places that actually make it I the states with wizard being one of them so all the companies are ordering from them and sitting it on the shelf till you buy it.

Maybe after you let it get old and turn yellowish but I have ordered from over 4 years and never once has it had the peppery smell and flavor. And that is probably after ordering it close to 35 times. Believe me I had it one time from another co. and my customers did not like it and it did have the peppery smell and taste.

All three of my WL orders for nic were peppery out of the bottle.
After the third serious order screw up on flavors I wrote them off as a supplier.

I've had two orders from WL - both peppery. I keep them in the freezer for emergencies. They're fine for tobacco vapes (which I don't make) or for some new ex-smokers, but I wouldn't order their nic again.

What is funny about it all is most of your orders from other places are from wizard labs. What makes it peppery is age and that is just the fact of the matter. The reason I order from them is because it is made to order.

I checked the nic and it is Wizard Labs. I am going to mix my last recipe without nic and see if that is the problem.

That's what you can do. Ck to see if the nic has a yellowish tinge to it, if so smell it to see if it has peppery smell like the Chinese e juices have.

my first nic was WL. I did not notice PEPPER, but when I compared it to VT , i could tell a difference.. WL wasnt bad at all, but the VT was cleaner tasting imho and let the flavor come out more

I did some experimentation and the nic does seem to be the issue so would someone give me a suggestion on where I should get some nicotine that does not have the peppery taste. Vaping 0% nicotine is just not gonna work for me. I started vaping to get the relaxation effects of the nicotine and even though I only vape 2mg nic vape, it helps me. Please give me some suggestions so I can order different nicotine.

I opened my bottle of 36mg in VG from ECX and it is most definitely less peppery than the 18mg in VG from WL.

You may be able to use up your old Nic by mixing small amounts in with the new stuff?
Maybe save from having to dump it out...
It may also work for some tobacco mixes, if you ever get in to that.

Got the new Vaperstek nicotine yesterday and mixed up a batch of coconut banana 2mg today and it was very good. The VT nic did not burn my throat at all. The WL nic will go in the freezer for emergencies. Thanks for all the help !!!

Johnson & Johnson doesn't manufacture vaping products. They use the nic for patches and gum. VT nic is processed for vaping. I used WL for 2 years. Once I vaped VT. WL was adios muchacho. There really is a huge difference. No one really knows until they try it.
