I find FW Butter Pecan a delicious flavor. To me I can taste it standalone easily @2ndInCommand

5% FW Butter Pecan
2% FA Vienna cream
1% FA Fresh cream

* I tried adding .5% fa anise and it did not seem to cool this or change the flavor. I accidentally used apricot instead of anise. It does not make the ice cream colder now I gotta buy more butter pecan!!@HeadInClouds @Heabob @2ndInCommand I will try 1% and have koolada on order. im trying to make this ice cream cold!

To me this is a very rich, sweet, creamy, light on the ice cream flavor. I wonder what a touch of mental would do to cool the flavor. I personally think I'd like the butter pecan at 3-4% with the above additions. I'll play around more and get back on this.

Oh and FW Butter Pecan is full of bad stuff...custard notes for those who may be concerned

And FW Butter Pecan standalone is divine! Honestly it's good all by itself, such a great flavor!

I made one with vanilla cupcake recently. Not bad at all, but not post-worthy, either, lol. Sounds good, D.

Thanks for starting a separate thread for this, as I think it deserves one.

My version:

FW Butter Pecan 11%
TFA Sweet Cream 1%

CAP Sweet Cream would probably work too, but I don't have that one yet.
This adds just a bit more sweetness that I wanted.

All my other tries with Vanillas just killed the Butter Pecan flavor too much.

I think this flavor would be a nice addition to the Butterscotch recipes...

Hey Heabob! If you like that butter pecan...I think you'll love fa maple! I just made up Hics Irish lass. I then put 1/2 of his Irish lass in a tank and added 1/2 of my vanilla dump tank to this and .25% maple....so the recipe would be something like...
1% FA Vienna cream
1% FA Vanilla classic
1% FA Vanilla bourbon
1% FA Vanilla Tahiti
.5% FA Irish cream
.25% FA Caramel
.25% FA Maple syrup
Possibly .25% FA Coconut ohh and a little oba oba and marshmallow...it's kinda a mystery....but my point is even at .25% I can taste the maple syrup. It is so good. Reminds me somewhat of the sweetness in butter pecan.

I've posted in progress not worthy recipes in the flavourart thread. Why? I think it helps us learn a little of what does and doesn't work. Man I wish we could clone that raspberry cupcake you made by adding that raspberry to your tank after vaping cookie! I miss Tball:(

I've gotten pretty close with the flavor.

I miss him, too, D. Quite a bit.

Looks like your getting close to a good Ice Cream Recipe here:D

Lol, yep, I use both FA Maple Syrup and TFA Maple, and sometimes TFA Molasses.
They are nice additives for my Blueberry Wild recipes too.
I think the Caramel + Maple help support each other better than when used alone.

I have to ask. Why do you post links to your recipes and not just copy and paste?
No particular reason except that the website offers additional information about it that I might not have posted! If You and other readers would prefer, I can certainly do a cut-and-paste!

I know there is no recipe etiquette here, but personally, if I posted a recipe, especially noting that it's a work in progress, I would like questions, recommendations, percentage advice, etc. Miss D and Heabob are both using the same ingredients, and their insight and discussion about the flavors will hopefully coalesce into something phenomenal.

It seems odd to post a link without offering any discussion to the recipe in question, and the posted link/recipe doesn't include the prominent flavor being discussed. The only additional information I see on the link was that you mixed it for the first time today.

Why am I even posting here if I'm not adding anything relevant? That's the thing. If I didn't see your link, I wouldn't have. I have a Butter Pecan recipe, but it's not great. If I had a recipe that I thought was worth posting, I would create a new thread. If you enjoy your recipe, please, make a new thread.

Miss D, please pardon the interruption. I think you're amazing and truly enjoy reading your threads and notes.

I would take posting a complete and similar theme recipe as very relevant discussion item and better than just saying "i think you should just increase or decrease this or that component"
RP - I'm sorry that my posts offend "your standards for etiquette" I'll try to do better!

But you don't actually discuss it. If you think it embodies Butter Pecan, why not add details about your recipe?

It might be similarly themed, but Miss D was looking for Butter Pecan Ice Cream, not toffee. I'm really not trying to be a jerk, I just don't understand how posting a link to something quite different adds to what they wanted the final product to be.

I feel like an idiot! @Heabob
@2ndInCommand I just realized I had 2 different variations I have steeped and the one that was better did not have the vanilla classic in it. And I will edit above accordingly. I do not have either sweet cream. I believe Vienna is more of a barvarian cream...I don't detect enough vanilla to hinder, but I did in the classic. The amount of butter pecan is going to vary from person to person greatly anywhere from 5% on up.

@Daintanee ......... You have become a mixing machine !! The recipe looks good so far.

I knew Heabob from ECF in the TFA thread........ He has been a mixing machine for quite a while now,,,,
I think in a few years or decades we should all go to the same nursing home. We will have to have a super secret place where we can all mix and vape and only cool staff can join us!

Hey D I'm.Gonna shoot you a pm.tomm at some point. I'm working on a bit f a cheesecake thing with that fw butter pecan. Hoping your trials will save me some. And why yes butter pecan, cheesecakes and mayb even some VC for good measure. I'm going.for the terrible for you but tastes great special. And nice.to.see @Thunderball around. I gotta say, pound for pound, VU swings well above its weight, in particular in the DIY areas both juice and modding. I mean the juice area really is the deep end of the pool compared to what I see over on the other side of the wall. OK.,tangent complete, sorry.

Ok, koolada in here accidentally @ 1% vs. '5% = NOT GOOD! 2 thumbs down. NASTY! Dumping This. Even at 1% it chills, but not right. Butter Pecan still warm tasting, bit arctic like in back . Of throat. Just plain weird.

6% FW Butter Pecan
.5% TFA DX Caramel Original
1% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream OR .5% Vanilla Bean Gelato
1% FW Toasted Marshmallow
1% TFA Butter Cream
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% TFA Vanilla Swirl

I haven't made it like this yet, but i've been working on it for quite some time and I can tell you, that butter pecan is hard to tame. I added the caramel original for an even thicker caramelly experience. The vanilla bean ice cream may give you more of the ice cream effect you are seeking (that is my goal obviously), and the toasted marshmallow seems to help bring the "bean" and "nutty pecan" together without causing too much conflict. Butter Cream just does exactly what you would want it to do when paired up with the butter pecan, nuff said there. Vienna cream cause @HeadInClouds would probably write a 3 page memoire if I didn't use an FA Cream and because, well, it's just that dam good. Vanilla Swirl just cause I love it. I've been stuck on getting this from good to great and I think maybe your addition of FA Fresh Cream may be just what I need. I don't have any FA Fresh Cream though so if you have the above stuff, maybe giver 'er a go and see what happens :D . Good Luck sir!~

I missed one...I've also tried this using FW Maple Pecan in a 1:4 ratio with Butter Pecan and it either just didn't do what i was expecting, or the lack of cream caused nastiness

Have any of you butter pecan people tried Nature's Flavor Butter Pecan yet? As long as you're vaping, you know, "those" ingredients, may as well use the tastiest version you can find.

FW Butter Pecan + FW Butter Rum also is a nice combo IMO.
Just keep the total flavoring around 10% or so.
No Ice Cream yet:(.

Diantanee, Your recipe sounds amazing! Butter Pecan is also one of my favorite flavors. Im a candy junky:)
Have you tried Caramel Candy by Flavor West in it? Ive had a lot of luck adding it into my butter pecan recipes.

I also found this recipes with sound intersting:
Butter Pecan (FW) 3
Caramel Candy (FW) 3
Praline & Cream (FW) 5
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (FW) 3
Vanilla Swirl (TPA) 6

I was going to make it and let you no afterwards but im out of Vanilla Bean FW and my Pralines is TPA. Im going to order them this week and give it a try and your recipes. Ive really been enjoying FA flavors and HIC's recipes.

Hey Danielle! Sheesh, seems I have been out of butter pecan forever. I really love it standalone around 5%. In trying to make a ice cream, I believe I failed. There are many suggestions & recipes in this thread, which is great.

I have not tried FW caramel candy. The bulk of my stash is FA. I did get some NF pecan praline from a buddy I have yet to try. It doesn't smell candyish to me, more nutty. Depending on your taste buds, you may want to double up on the butter pecan. I never got back to this, but I was going to lower the Vienna Cream to 1% and take the fresh cream out and add .5-1% of FA Vanilla Bourbon or Classic. I bet you'd like some of that caramel candy in here.

My next order for FW Butter Pecan & FW Hazelnut will be 30ml, lol.

I really like TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream compared to the Vanilla Bean Gellato.
And the TFA French Vanilla Deluxe is good too.

Have to try these with the Butter Pecan next time:D.
