you may be having a reaction to nicotine / nightshades.
Solanum melongena, or the commonly known eggplant is a relative of Atropa belladonna or that commonly called deadly nightshade. The family of plants also includes tomatoes, potatoes, and aubergine. This was one those which upon taking an interest in herbs, I was guided to know more about with some haste lending to caution.
Another was digitalis purpurea also commonly known as foxglove. Foxglove was given for centuries as a tea to patients suffering ailments of the heart by the witta or wicca. Modern medicine finally caught up when it was realize that foxglove contained the right amount of chemicals in the right combination to effect treatment.
This is
not to say to go out and drink foxglove tea right away if you suffer heart problems. Consult a physician first, what I post here is simply personal anecdotes and knowledge from research.
It is not valid medical advice.
Digitalis or foxglove can be quite deadly if you go mucking about with it, without having adequate knowledge and experience, even then many still avoid mucking about. I stress,
consult a physician or licensed medical health professional before reading and using any medical type of advice from the Internet & Web.
@kross8, I know you're aware of all the
standard disclaimers and having common sense to be careful. I'm directing the last paragraph to those who may not.
A third was castor which produces one of the most deadly toxins on Earth, ricin. Ricin can go undetected unless a medical examiner knows specifically to look for it, symptoms may resemble typical cardiac arrest. Ricin is odorless, tasteless. A once infamous method of administering it was to lace a shot glass with it and let the targeted party enjoy a shot of Scotch as the Scotch. It was also sent via postal mail inside envelopes to some U.S. Senators a few years ago. Oddly, the week before that I was reading up more on its toxicology over the Web / Internet for use in a fictional story plot. Suffice it say that story fell by the wayside.
Also, so it's clarified, I am not advocating anyone go tra la laing around and start a murdering spree using Ricin, nor inciting that. I'm merely presenting information based upon research. Trust me, if you do go doing such, those who need know will know to find you immediately. I say this from knowing two important facts. 1. The N.S.A, F.B.I, C.I.A and likely a dozen or so other acronym agencies do monitor my communications, what i look at on television, what I listen to on the radio. 2. They monitor this site as well as any Internet & Web communications I use/make, unless of course I encrypt it with AES encryption and add my own randomly chosen cipher as well, even then I'm sure they likely read my thoughts. No, this is not paranoid delusion either. My wife can attest to it and not because she's my wife. She has seen it.
Francis Bacon says it well, "knowledge is power." This is in part why I am so, ...
interesting to these types. I enjoy learning, enjoy gaining knowledge, then forgetting it. *chuckles* It is said no one knows about me. That saying is indeed true, I don't even know about me. Excuse me, I was never here.
