Yup yup yup , There on it.....We are going to try returning back and there going to reship . this may bypass the Customs asshole that is messing with people here in Edmonton . I would realy like to see the paperwork that Customs supply as the reason for the import charge...but I cant unless I pay the 499.99 .

Canada customs has really started to crack down on vape gear and juice coming into Canada in the past couple months. There are numerous threads on reddit.com/r/Canadian_ecigarette/ about Canada Customs seizing vape gear, returning it to the sender or adding ridiculous Duties and Taxes to your bill. They are hitting vape gear and juice with any Tobacco Duty they can think of. One guy on reddit even had his Mod sent to Health Canada by Canada Customs for inspection Importing juice with nicotine has always been illegal but most shipment from the U.S. made it through customs without any problems, sadly that is not the case anymore. Importing Mods into Canada was never a problem until recently.

This will really piss me off if they seize my juice in May, if I'm still vaping. I have a 24 hour layover in Vancouver, and plan on renting a car and staying elsewhere until my next flight leaves.
that's crazy don't pay the money save 399 dollars eat the 90 spent on juice and order from a canadian vendor, with the remaining 300!
they held my order of flavourings for two months claiming it had nicotine in it.. Finally opened all the bubble wrap threw the bottles in upside down and let it through. go figure, no extra charges thoe.
I know all about packages from Fasttech on Singapore or China post being held back at customs (so it appears) but wasn't ordering e-juice from the US always considered iffy? (never done that) OR has this just changed?
Ordering juice from the US with nicotine has always been illegal (its technically illegal to sell juice with nicotine in Canada) but most orders made it through customs without any problems. In the past couple months something seems to have changed because Canada Customs is starting to crack down on juice shipments.

Many vape packages from known addresses in China, via Singapore Post or China Post are sitting in customs for up to 6 weeks.
Yet lesser known china vape places, their packages are sailing through, in record time which sort of puts a kibosh on the idea that the slowdown is strictly christmas related.
If others are also having problems importing e-juice, all at the same time, it lends some credibility to speculation that Canada is doing what it can to prevent vapers from buying outside of Canada.
It makes sense that governments would want to keep the money/taxes at home.

How long has it been illegal here for? I was under the impression that it was legal but had the laws gone into effect on Jan 1, 2016, then it would be illegal but they have since put that on hold, right, or wrong?

Selling juice with nicotine has always been illegal on a federal level in Canada but it has never been enforced (as far as I know).The law that was going into effect on Jan. 1 2016 that was delayed is a provincial law for Ontario only. That law would have essentially treated everything vaping related like a tobacco product. All smoking restrictions would have applied to vaping.
I've read instances of cease and desist letters being sent to some stores. But no actual enforcement has taken place that I've seen.
And if they legalize another substance, as they say they intend to. I don't see how they will ever enforce the nicotine ban.

I chose not to do so for a long time having been convinced by others that DIY could never satisfy me, they would be too simple but 3 weeks in and suddenly all my wicks and coils are much cleaner (no gunk) and the great recipes I am following cost me about $2.50 instead of $30.

Glad I came across this thread and didn't stupidly bring my vape stuff to Canada at the end of the month. I'll be up in Vancouver for a weekend for a Funeral. My question at this point, is do they sell cigalike type things (blu or whatever) up there? Just to get me through the weekend.
Yes, out here in Canada they sell cigalikes, pen vapes, and full size mods too, we can get just about anything here, it'll just cost more than it does in the States. We have all the latest and greatest mods and tanks and all, so no worries about that, you should be able to find everything you need here

Yeah, the Nic thing is more about shipping crossing borders. You can no longer get Nicced Ejuice across the border, Customs even takes non-Nicced juice sometimes too. While it is technically illegal to sell juice with Nic (Federally), there is no enforcement of this, so you can readily buy Nicced juices from anywhere (yes, even convenience stores, although they are terrible) and we even have alot of American juices here too. The new regulations that passed just group vapes with tobacco products in respect to availability (18+ to buy and use) but that's about it, it's all pretty lax up here, Gov ain't wasting their time with this petty regulation bullshit right now, they got bigger issues to deal with (that's why all the dispensaries, which are still also technically illegal, don't get hassled or bothered either)
You will not have a problem carrying vape gear and a reasonable amount of juice (for personal use) through customs. Canada Customs is only concerned with Canadians importing juice with nic and are not worried about visitors with vape gear.
