Can't use original Crown tank without hacking up a lung?

It really sucks, because out of my meager collection, it's my favorite tank for flavor. I'm using .25 authentic SS coils, I've played with my temp/watt settings, airflow, draw time length, etc. I don't hack and cough like this with my isub v or Kanger tanks. Any ideas?

What mod are you using and what are your settings at?

Aren't your other tanks setup for MTL and your Crown for DL?
Are you using stainless in the other tanks?
Are you getting twice as much vapor from your Crown?
If so try letting off the fire button half way through your draw but continue to finish the draw.
See if that makes any difference.

No, I DL everything and have for quite some time. All my coils are SS. Right now my Coolfire is set on 50watts and 450degrees for SS.

Bad coils?
Brand new coils. Flavor and vapor production seem on point as well, no other issues that normally point to bad coils. Just can't take a single hit off this tank without massive coughing. I mean like, you'd think I just started vaping type cough.

And I don't notice more vapor per say. It doesn't feel like it either.
Here's a great write up on the Crown. Tbh that coil really is anemic when run under 70w. You really need to vape at 70w and above to get the full potential out of that particular coil. If you're used to an STM then the air flow may just be to much for you. Even closed down the airflow on the Crown is still a little looser than the the wide open airflow of the STM.

I don't have any liquid lower than 70/30 VG/pg or access to it (live in AR, no online sales and only shop doesn't carry anything lower) but I've tried 70/30 all the way up to max VG as well. Same juices in isub v or Kanger sub tanks are no problem. I do have .5 SS coils in the other tanks, but if it's not going to solve the issue, I don't want to waste money I could put towards a different tank on new .5 crown coils. It's frustrating. I adore the flavor off this tank and really want to love it but can't.

I've had it up to 85 watts in wattage mode and still cough. I only backed it down to see if it would help

I don't see how that old style tank could wick juice fast enough. That's a very hot setup for that tank. It needs better airflow as well.

I have 6 Crowns. I run them everyday with all different types of juices at 75-90w. Depending on the juice and the mod.

I've only backed the wattage down once I knew my coil was broken in good to see if it would circumvent the cough. It seems like it's a good tank otherwise. I'm not sure why I'm having this specific problem.

I just got an original crown. I run the .5 ohm kenthals at 50 watts. It's a decent vape for me. 75% vg.

Maybe your nic is too high for the tank.

I've only found maybe 4 or 5 websites that won't ship to AR, I recently started making my own juice but for the past 7 months i've got all but maybe 3 bottles of my juice online shipped here.

I keep a v1 Crown around on a little Sigelei 50w vr2 as a backup, vaping on it right now actually at 50w with .25 coils. I have no problems with it but my wife hated it when she tried it on her ipv400. She tried her favorite juice and said it was a constant harsh feeling scratching at her throat. I don't have much to add to help other than to say you're not alone in it being an oddball issue for a reason we couldn't explain. I find it perfectly enjoyable without any issues so the best we came up with was she just doesn't use it.

Yes! That is it exactly! It immediately feels scratchy and harsh no matter the nic, pg, or VG levels! What tanks does she use in its place? I'm not into clouds, care more for flavor, and am evidently looking for a new DL tank to replace it. I'll try some more websites, I just figured since ZampleBox wouldn't ship to my address anymore, no websites would. I circumvented losing my ZampleBox by having it shipped to my aunt's house in LA.

Btw, the crown may be rated for higher wattage, but it works perfectly fine and slows down how thirsty it is at 50 watts too.

0.25 ohm Dual Stainless Steel Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Coils are spec'd at 80 to 120W.
Granted those are manufacture recommended settings but still wanted to post the info.
Maybe something here can shed light;

Thanks for this comment, I had no idea there was any amount of nickel in these coils, and I have a nickel allergy. Severe enough I have to put iron on patches over the rivets and buttons of the inside of my jeans and can't wear any costume jewelry for more than a half hour without breaking out into hives. This could very well be what's causing the issue and is why I steer clear of nickle coils entirely.

That's it then.

Maybe try the TFV4 MICRO.
I use the CLP2 0.3 coils at 55 watts and the flavor is amazing.

I built coils for her for a while in a few of my RTAs (coilart mage, ud simba) She is currently using a Cubis Pro and liking it alot aside from the occasional flooding issues that top airflow only cup style of tank has its not bad with the right coil. She seems to enjoy the .5 BF SS316 DL coils the most in it.

I cough often on crown2 with NI200 coils. These are powerful sharp tanks. Have to take short puff. Try not to do direct lung.
