I seriously had no idea where to post this so please move it if you feel the need.

I'm overwhelmed by the information out there so I'm hoping to get some recommendations on the spot for a tank/mod combo that's not about mass vapor production, but about excellent flavor and convenience/comfort.

I would prefer a tube mod or a small, not-too-pointy box mod (also, preferably regulated!).
Most of my vaping has been on sub-ohm set ups at higher wattages and frankly, I need a change.

I guess what I'm asking is, what's the most comfortable set up you guys have ever had, that you can carry around all day, that won't make a giant lump in the pocket like my IPV3 Li does, and that has good flavor and moderate vapor production that I can get, all together, for under $300?

Edited to add (because I forgot) - I want a mouth to lung capable setup.

So, my general setup is a Griffin with some crazy coils in it and a 150w or 180w big box mod. I enjoy that, however I got a Mini Volt a week or so ago and that's a nice little tool. I've been vaping that more lately as I've been out and about for work.

So I have the Mini Volt and an Atlantis v1 w/ the .5Ω coils. It's very nice, not too bad on creating a scene with it's cloud production and doesn't taste bad at all.

Mini Volt $30 on eBay, and I think it was free shipping too.

For the tank you can probably find other options, but that's what I'm using till my Diablo comes in so I can build on it. I was looking at the Cubis but didn't want to buy another tank just to get replaced in a couple weeks. Overall with a Mini Volt and Atlantis (Around $25 last I saw) you'd be looking at around $60 for a solid little pocketable setup. I'm carrying it everywhere now, the big thing stays in my car/house, the mini volt either charging or in my pocket.

(limited to 40w on the Mini Volt I should mention, but that's not a problem if you get the right coils).

I would say either the evic vtc mini or sigelei spark (even smaller than the mini vtc!) with a cov vengeance or defiant tank. Outstanding small package with amazing flavor performance.

Didn't see the MTL note, I have had tanks capable of that but nothing I love in that realm yet. Still Mini volt is worth checking out.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Much appreciated. The mini volt looks like an option for me, I will consider it.

Mini volt would be my suggestion as well. My casual vape set up is a IPV D2 with an ego one mega and a .5 Ti coil or a Kanger Subtank mini using the RBA and a 1.0 coil.

I use an evic vtc mini with a cubis tank as my casual setup. Fits easily in a pocket or in my purse and will not leak. I use the SS316 .5 or 1 ohm heads depending on which I have on hand. I chain vape like crazy and the battery will last me all day before needing a charge and that is taking it all the way down to the weak battery warning, about 20 hours.

sigelei spark 90w with goblin mini. I am waiting on a goblin mini v2 with top fill. Which is much better for daily use.

Got an IPV D3 about a week ago- inexpensive, good battery life, and nice form factor..... especially the dark blue. Not crazy about the MTL choices, so I use it with more restrictive sub-ohm tanks. Typically a Kanger Mini with any of the (3) 0.5 ohm coils, or an og Herakles with either of the kanthal coils.

My IPV 3 Li has served me well, and the menu is very similar on the D3. That Sigelei Spark sure looks nice too. If my finances were in better order, I'd get an Efusion, but that wouldn't be responsible right now. If the OP's budget is $300, I thought worth mentioning.

I'm currently using an eVic VTC Mini paired to a Moradin RTA. This it the best setup I've had so far. Maybe until I can get my hands on the Eleaf Pico. But I alternate the eVic with a Mini Volt.

The Mini Volt is a great little mod if you can see what it was built for. It's great for trips to the mall or when travelling wherein you can't chain vape. That said, if you're looking for your first and/primary mod then I suggest getting a single 18650 mod.

Now to the Moradin RTA. I've been on the lookout for an RTA that suits me. I have a Griffin RTA and a Moonshot RDTA. The Griffin, I didn't ise outside of my house at all. It's just too tall for my taste. The Moonshot would've been perfect if it had juice flow control to stop it from leaking all the time. The Moradin though, is just perfect. Love the simplicity of it and the flavor is awesome! Genius air flow and juice flow design. Zero leaking, top notch flavor and great build quality. The tank itself looks pretty good too.

I have been using the Pico/Melo3 mini for about a month and I love it and will buy a second one when payday rolls around. I am a proud Tootle Puffer and am using the 1.8 ohm Triton coils. I highly recommend this combo.

Goblin Mini is REALLY tough to beat for flavor and MTL if you don't mind building.. Adjustable airflow, super great flavor, pairs very well with the Minivolt.

I prefer the v1 over the v2, but some people just can't stand the bottom screw fill. Doesn't bother me. I get leaks with the v2 from time to time.

Cubis with 1.5ohm Clapton coils is a nice MTL, cheap and leak proof.
Tron S with 1.0 ohm CLR coils, also works for MTL by adjusting the airflow down, and can be rebuilt if needed.

I just got a Sig Spark two days ago. I've had an XCube II since it came out and I wanted something a little smaller for day-to-day use that's a more conspicuous. I started sub-ohm vaping with the Aspire CF Sub Ohm battery and Atlantis 1, then picked up a Sig 30-watt Mini in order to have variable wattage abilities for different coils. I loved it and it still works well to this day, it just doesn't put out enough of a punch for today's sub-ohm tanks. I mostly use the Crown (and just got a Crown II) so 90 watts is plenty for my needs. I still have the XCube II if I want to chuck clouds with my TFV4 at 120 watts, but every other tank I have doesn't need more than 90 so the Spark is perfect for my needs. If it's as reliable and solid as the 30-watt Mini is, then I'll be extremely happy with this purchase.

I've heard good things about the evic vtc mini, but I don't know about it from personal experience.

I'd venture to say you have already made your purchase since it has been 4 and a half months since you asked, but my wife is also a MTL user and she uses the Joyetech Cubis with the Sigelei Fuchai 213.
Since she isn't using TC, the 213 works well for her.
Granted she uses it at the minimum 10 watt setting.
An alternate mod could be Smok H-Priv, Eleaf TC100, Vaporesso Tarot, Cuboid, and a few new ones.
Each have their own pros and cons except the H-Priv.
The H-Priv has NO cons.
If the size is too big for what you're wanting, that still isn't a con.
just means you need the H-Priv AND a smaller mod.
haha
