This CDC magic comes from defining "use" as "took one puff in the last 30 days".

Chances are smokers have vapers telling them "try this" all the time and some smokers are interested in taking a puff to see what the hype is about.

Also you have slick lines like this::

"Among e-cigarette users 45 years or older, 98.7 percent were either current or former cigarette smokers while 1.3 percent had never been a cigarette smoker before. Among adults ages 18 to 24, 40 percent had never been smokers before."

40% of what? it could be 40% of 10 people which would be 4

The CDC way:

Do Study
Find Experimentation
Make Experimentation Use
Profit

Or just pick and choose any half assed study that best suits your needs and then "Tweak" it for a perfect fit, then publish it as an un-deniable truth. submit invoice and get paid.

Right, and some of that 1.3% are current or former pipe or cigar smokers, or people who used dip/chew.

Among adults ages 18 to 24, 40 percent had never been smokers before."
Yep, I believe that 40% of adults aged 18-24 have never smoked. Heck, this might even be true of 40% of them that took one puff from a vape at some point. The question, as always, is: How many of them would be smoking instead, if it the less harmful alternative of vaping wasn't available?

Top researchers have found evidence that nearly 98.67% of stats in articles or threads that have no link to a source are 100% bullshit

I think we need to start demanding the source when stats are involved

58.8 percent of adult e-cigarette users in 2015 were also current cigarette smokers and another 29.8 percent were former cigarette smokers.

In other words, 58.8% are trying to quit and 29.8% already have. How is this not a good thing? It doesn't matter what the numbers are, its all about how you spin them. The "You must quit completely or there is no benefit to public health and re-glamorizes smoking" position is utter nonsense which harms public health by downplaying the benefits of harm reduction.
