I'll start this off by saying I didn't know if this would be the 100% best place to put this thread, but it seems to make sense to me.
So I bought a Velocity Clone by Tobeco a few months ago and I love it. A few days ago the white paint it came with started chipping away, so I sanded it all down and now it looks like a brushed aluminium. I just got the idea to make mine one of a kind. I want to chrome plate the top cap. My only hesitation is I don't know if this is safe. I don't know if the heat of the coil would turn it into a chrome rich oxide. Which would be potentially the same reason people thing nickel wire would be bad for you, the creation of these metal-oxide compounds that would get in the vape. Any help would be appreciated. To help you understand the heat that would be putting off from the coils, I tend to use only builds like Claptons, Fused claptons, or alien wire. Single coils running ~.15Ω I will use around 120w (this being the Alien wire). Dual coils running ~.36Ω (dual claptons) I will run at 165w.
