Marvel events always bring about a huge wave of tie-ins. That's inevitable. But much of the appeal with the original Civil War stemmed from the fact that the tie-ins were such a logical extension of the core mini-series. One way or another, the conflict over superhuman registration affected every hero in the Marvel Universe. The hope is that the same will hold true for Civil War II and the battle over how to harness Ulysses' precognitive abilities. If Civil War II: Amazing Spider-Man #1 is any indication, that philosophical divide will yield some enjoyable spinoff adventures.

Both creators do their part to ensure that this mini-series reads like a natural extension of Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli's Amazing Spider-Man. For his part, Foreman's art style has a similarly lithe and sinister quality. He renders an exciting, action-packed opening sequence as Spidey battles the Vulturions. And even as the script transitions into more dialogue-driven territory after that, Foreman's kinetic line-work helps keep the book humming along.
