If you have a plain 26 ga. Coil will it have the same resistance as a 26ga. Clapton coil given all else is the same

Not a coil yet, but say 26 kanthal inside 32 kanthal. Just started reading about building coils and haven't seen this addressed one way or another, maybe i haven't searched it right.

The Clapton wire will have a higher resistance.
Check out the Wire Wizard at steam-engine.org - it is an extremely helpful tool for coil specs.

I just used the wire wizard. So 26ga. With 30ga. Outer, Both Kanthal. 5 wraps, 3mm inner, came out .875 ohms. Than half that for dual coils ?

Yes, so 0.44Ω for a dual coil installation.

Don't forget to account for your "Leg Length". I usually set it to 2mm. Also, you're most likely 4.5 wraps, not 5. Half wraps are when both leads are facing the same direction. Full wraps are when the leads face opposite directions. It's an EXTREMELY common mistake, even most professionals make the same error.

If so, then your adjusted resistance is 0.76Ω/coil, 0.38Ω/pair.

Thanks everyone for the info. Yes both leads face the same direction.
