Ok so I have had my dna 30 clone since June 26. Been using sine about early July. Already has broke on me. The voltage up down button is stuck. Stays on 30w. Sometimes will move down watts then mins later will check and I will be at 30w all over again. I contacted where I purchased it hopefully they can fix this. Has anyone heard of similar problems or even maybe a fix.

What type of battery are you using? I would HIGHLY recommend a high quality Panasonic or sony with high output. Just my opinion.

Just threw a battery back in hoping it would rest. After playing with it I was able to lower the watts and then 5 sec later it starting to sprint back up to 30 w. Now it won't move back down. I hope it's not the chip. Radio shack has this electric contact cleaner might try spraying some on the button.

It could just be a stuck 'up' button. I just tried holding the up button on mine and then hit the down button. It stopped when I held the down button. Might give you some room to test.

It's weird if it's asleep I can press the voltage up or down and it wakes it up but the voltage just won't move when I try to adjust it

I have friends who bought the Cloupor models , six of them bought on preorder , three have died completely , two after a few months and one about three weeks in , surprisingly two of them have Fasttech versions that they rave about , you never know lol.

There's a couple more threads somewhere in the VU where after as little as two weeks with the Hana clone it died and at least one vendor said sorry can't help , 12 day warranty , thats bullshit .

Hopefully you didn't by it from Elev8. Their customer service is sub par.

I've had mine for about as long as st_andrew. No performance issues with mine yet.

I've noticed that the back cover does need to be re-screwed securely pretty often, so I may invest in some small earth magnets and Gorilla Glue from Home Depot for fastening purposes.

Hey did you manage to solve your problem with the wattage being stuck at 30W?

I have the same problem, it has something to do with the internal buttons.
What i did when my wattage got stuck at 30W was open the case and remove the red plastic circuit cover (this will void any warranty) and i manually pressed the internal down button with a small screwdriver a few times (if your not sure where the internal button are search google for 'dna30 diagram'), the wattage went down and the external down button began to work again. It still goes up to 30W occasionally so i lock the wattage, but i have noticed that now when the wattage begins to climb up again when the wattage is unlocked, pressing the external down button stops it in its tracks.
Hope this helps!

Well my warranty has as much worth as tits on a bullfrog (my dad's saying lol). But yeah, I removed the red cover only to find a shit load of hot glue. I took out the battery for like 6 hours and It reset to like 12 watts or something close to that. Then I hit the up button and when the wattage started to go up I saved it at around 18 watts (locking the wattage).18 watts is fine for my kayfun builds, which I use about 90 percent of the time. image.jpg

Sounds like this failed during the 90 warranty period. If your dealer doesn't take care of it send an email to Cloupor and they have been honoring the warranty for many people. I believe they have a place in the US to send for warranty and Cloupor seems to be very easy to deal with from the posts I've seen from people that went to them when their dealers forgot how to treat customers.

I screwed that by taking off the red plastic. If only I knew earlier. Mine failed after 10 days

These chips retain memory for quite some time. When it resets it will go to 7 watts. It took well over 24hrs to get mine to reset. It wasn't the same issue you are having but if you want to try resetting you will need to pull the battery and have patience.

It was quite some time ago that I did a reset I think maybe mine reseted in 12-18 hours. I don't remember, but I didn't use it for a day. That's how I got the wattage to go down.

I just got my lazy ass to look at the board specs and saw what you were talking about with the up and down. I had to remove a bit of hot glue , but I was able to use the down . Which in fact reset the switch I think . Now my switches seem to work. Thank you 1000 times. Big like to you

Try pushing the internal and external up buttons a few times. If either of them are stuck or shorted it will cause the power to go up persistently. The switches are normally open so if one is shorted it would be closed causing it to go up in power settings.

I pulled the top of my internal up button off hoping it would solve the problem once and for all but for a few days the problem persisted but hasn't happened for about a week now. I think the problem is caused by high humidity/moisture.

Just to update my wattage hasnt gone up on its own for about 15 days now.
The last thing i did was wipe the contacts where the up button used to be, thinking moisture was the problem, could have been some machine oil or something else conductive under the buttons making the connection or something.

Make sure you take the battery out prior to sticking any metal objects into the circuit area. :)

Are the threads stripped? If so the only solution is to replace the 510 connector. It would require some soldering skills.

I think i have this nipped in the rear guys, "Do NOT Quote Me"!!! Try at your own risk !!! I took a very tiny common screw driver "Jewelers", And Very gently scraped off the Hot Glue they have covering the tiny ribbon cable that connects to the screen "In between the Up and Down Buttons" It was kinda touching the "UP" button on the PCB board itself. I know this fixed it because it kept doing it till no end. And it stopped immediately after i removed the hot glue blob . Same problem, Watts darting up to 30 and wouldn't come back down ! Frickin aggrivating !!! Just be very careful not to break the ribbon cable free of the board or you'll have no display. Try at your own risk ! it worked 100% for me "Thank God"... Hope this helps. KEEP ON VAPING 4EVER !!!

Post a pic of you solder job. Something isn't in the right place, or something is touching something it should not be.

It's so hard to see there and my camera isn't that good I took out but load of hot glue that was in there that I had to trim out just to get to the board then I added a different size wire to the hot that connects the 510 maybe that's it but it says it shorts when touching metal. Maybe if you can just give me an idea if possible problems I can just check that?
