I'm interested in building my own coils in the future but right now I'm more so familiarizing myself with it (YouTube, reading into ohm's law, etc).

If I were to build a dual coil on an RDA (I'm looking at the Freakshow to be more specific or the Mad Hatter), aiming for a resistance of 0.3 to 0.5ish, how do I know what a safe wattage range to fire it would be? I would be using this on a MVP 3.0 Pro by the way.

Also are there any good online coil building calculators out there that anyone knows of that I could go by reference? Something "dummy proof" that calculates how many wraps, diameter, etc. I found one by chance but I don't remember the site now.

The 3 pro circuit protection is pretty much idiot proof. (Raised hand here)

It will not fire if you get something seriously wrong.
Examples:
Wire touching the outer casing. No fire.
Ohms too low. No fire.

I can't help you with the rest of your question. But can let you know the 3 is a pretty safe box IMO.

Steam engine is what most people use for to check builds. As far as safe wastage start low and work up. with a .3 I am normally pushing 60-80 watts depending on the juice and my mood. You can push allot more power to a dripper, you just end up haveing to top it off with juice more. With a 60 watt limit you may want to use a little higher ohms, but it depends on how warm you want your vape and the wire size you are using.
