Coil Help for a Cuboid 150W / Theorem Atomizer Set up.

Hell all,

So I'll start with my brief history,

I started off with the KangerTech Sub box Mini for my first build. I used the pre-built coils and when I decided to experiment with the RDA that it came with I found I really liked the flavor a lot better.

Finally a few weeks ago I broke down and upgraded my mod to a Cuboid 150W, and after talking with the guys at the store I always go to (they have helped me with pretty much everything since I've started) I got the Theorem Atomizer to go with it so I could run a higher wattage. He gave me one of his old clapton coils he'd built to test it out and I do like it. I tried the NotchCoils it came with and found that they amped up really fast in comparison, but i also realized they don't last long at all. So my question with all this is;

What Coils Should I build to best go with my set up?
Can I try to build different type?
What Gauge of Wires Should I be using? (for both types if I go the Clapton route)

Obviously I just started looking into building my own and its something I'm really excited about, but at the same time I don't want to do anything wrong. I've tried looking into the ohm break down and rules for this stuff but I'm still finding it a bit hard to comprehend. I don't want to blow up my mod or anything, but at the same time I know until i understand the whole process and can build my own coils while understanding how far I can go with said coils, I wont be satisfied.

So anyone know where I can start for this, and then guide me in the other questions for now to tie me over until i've done my homework?

=] Thanks!

The way I learned to build coils was I went to one of mu local shops snd asked them to build me a coil and watched. I read up on ohm's law, and bought all the necessary tools and such.

As far as what coil would be good for your theorem-it's all personal preference. You can always buy ore-built coils too.

hmm I don't find this to be the case at all.. the Notch coils being SS definitely outlast kanthal coils plus they are easy to clean .. just pull the cotton and give it a couple quick hits at like 10/20 watts easily last 3 to 4 times K coils.

Theorem is a flavor tank .. so wouldn't try to ramp it too high I usually run it in TC mode with SS claptons @ like 400-490 degrees (425 mostly) - have had good luck in the 26 gauge range .. both reg and clapton core and run 32 34 for the outer wire. I like TemCo wire .. very clean and good price.

:bomb:usual disclaimers: Don't blow anything up ... DO check resistance/ohm's law -check connections (clean and tight) It's EZ ... science not rocket science ;p

I seem to have misplaced my thearomem :/

I have/had? A 1.0 clapton coil in there and loved it-nice dense cool vape with good flavor. Now where is that little bastard?

My first suggestion would be head to the shop where your freindly with the guys and tell/ask them what you've posted.. Because if your anything like me the answers to your questions will always lead to more questions.. That being said ill try to answer your questions the best i can..
iMo the first coils to start building other than your standard builds are probably just regular old claptons.. It may take you a few tries but if your good with your hands you should pick up on them relatively quickly. Even after the guys at your shop give you a tutorial its still good to check thru a few youtube videos to help you find your style Of wrapping. For the sake of ease and simplicity i would probably say it would be best to start with 24 ga wire for the core and 36 ga for the claptoning. This is becaus these are on the bigger side and will be a bit easier than trying to use anything thinner. Also as far as ohms law goes it took me a good few weeks to wrap my head around it and it still isnt exactly second nature to me.. However in the begining i had this drive to learn everything about this "hobby" so i kept workin at figuring out the stuff that seemed difficult..whether that was learning to wrap more complex wire or getting a full understanding of OHMs Law.. If your like alot of us hobbyist vapers it will be floating around your head all day and your happy to watch another youtube vid explaining battery safety..lol.. Your gonna wanna get a ohms calculator.. I use vapers toolbox but you might wanna ask your shop guys what they use because i needed someone to show me how to use the calculator. And lastly my first box that i started to build on was a cuboid with a tsunami rda.. So being that its such a good regulated box it will be hard to do anything dangerous unless you really try. It has safety features built in so that you cant do something like build to low, but also ill tell you what they told me which is when you first start use the calculator and aim for a .3 build and that should keep things safe.. Because in reality regardless of the resistance reading you are gonna be quite proud n satisfied when you vape those first few builds.. Hope i helped.. Have Fun..
