Coil Question

Ive got a Sigelei Fuchai 200 watt tc
What would be a good cloud chasing build? Im new to building, in fact this will be my first build.
What gauge should I use for cloud chasing?
What watts should I stick around?
Yes my batteries are good
I would be building it in a mutation x v4
(if you have another you like, suggest a better rda for around the same price)
Thanks for all the help!

Try the cloud chasers corner. It's a few lines down from this one. It will tell you what you want to know. I'm not sure what atty you have but that makes a difference too. I like the Twisted Messes myself. The new tugboat or the new Kennedy are hard to beat as well.

You're asking a specific question with no certain answer. It's a question that comes up a lot here. Everybody seems to want to chuck clouds when they get into building. The problem is that there is a multitude of factors and many subjects to cover. All of the questions you've asked literally have contradictory answers, depending on various factors. People will shoot you their personal recommendations, spout off all of this coil philosophy, call you a noob, say your setup is no good, etc., but the reality is this:

It's unrealistic to expect to be chucking clouds with your first build. Ease yourself into it. Take the time to learn what goes into making a build perform. Work on mastering the basic techniques for building and experiment as you go along. Once you have a better grasp of what you're doing and why, clouds become an afterthought. Seriously! It's that simple. If you want to chuck clouds, then learn to build in a general sense. Don't ask us... ...or at least don't ask us such general questions. Just sit down, do a little reading, and get to building for a couple of weeks. You'll get it.

I apologize if my bluntness comes off harshly. I'm trying to give you the advice that I think will benefit you the most.

Anywho, your setup is fine. You have everything you need. I can't take your word on the batteries though. There are too many batteries out there that people think are "good," but actually are not. And then, there are re-wraps with grossly exaggerated specs.

For standard coils, you can't go wrong with 22 or 24 gauge kanthal or nichrome 80. That will quickly get you the results I think you're after.

The wattage is going to vary quite a bit. It is possible to get clouds at 60w, depending on what you're building with and for. Don't limit yourself by that number. Do builds that you think will perform well with your setup and find the wattage for them afterwards. There are no ironclad rules when it comes to cloud chasing!

If I had to recommend a build, I'd say you should try a dual 22g kanthal build. 6-8 wraps @ 1/8" will do ya. Easy on the cotton. As you pull it through, you should feel just the slightest amount of resistance. You want just enough that the cotton makes full contact when juiced up. Also, keep the wicks short. You only need just enough length for them to barely touch the deck. Run it at 100w or more and you should be good to go. Just watch out - it's going to get pretty hot and the vapor is going to be aggressive. If you hit it too hard, the velocity and density will get to you. If you don't hit it hard enough, the airflow won't cool it enough and you'll choke from the heat.

Now, that's not the best build you can do. It's just the first thing I thought of that's easy to do and will work. Dual 22's are a classic. Like I said, do some builds and I think you will quickly find many that are better. Just a little something to start you off...

...good luck on your chase! That's half of the fun.
