This was made on a 3D printer, but you would think they are somewhere for sale, anyone have or have used something like this?

Suppose now that we have a laser engraver, CNC router and 4 printers, maybe I can talk the bosslady into a Makerbot 3D next :p

Love the idea with a variation or two. Put the spool of wrap wire on the other rod, and put a drill on the core rod. My biggest problem doing it by hand is keeping the damn wrap spool perpendicular with the core's and proper tension.

Hmm. add a small battery powered motor and gear reduction, say from a RC car or the like and that wouldn't be to bad. I have been drawing something like that that I wanted to build but with flat jaws similar to the Goons posts to hold multi cores flat. put a decent spring between the vertical plate and one of the drive gears so that it puts tension on the core wires and doesn't allow them to sag. Could be a decent addition to my toys.
