Hey, it's Fowler. I'm writing the Community review this week while usual reviewer Eric Goldman is off in New York covering the network Upfronts.
TV's use of flashbacks was at the heart of "Basic RV Repair and Palmistry," though more specifically, I suppose, it was all about how Abed still needs to be able to contextualize everything though the prism of television tropes in order to actively participate/be helpful in group situations.
A little lighter on laughs than some of the other entries this season, "Basic RV Repair and Palmistry" loaded up on the cliquey dialogue for what, essentially, was a bottle episode - though blessed with some picturesque exterior scenes as the Greendale Gang was allowed to exit (and even go on top of) Elroy's RV. Conversations ranged from Britta thinking she got away with getting high to a "cartoonish vampiric collection" of cell phones draining the RV's battery to the Gang taking turns apologizing for their specific contribution toward getting everyone marooned out on a mountain highway.
