Convergence is shaping up to be one of those events where the tie-ins are more enjoyable than the core mini-series. Maybe that's for the best. The core appeal of this event was always the return of DC's pre-New 52 universes and the chance to reconnect with those characters for a couple months. But as dull and plodding as the main story has been so far, it's enough to question why DC even bothered with this premise. Why not just bring back the old DCU sans a long-winded explanation and leave it at that?
