Copper mod-18650 or 26650?

Hi people. I have a nemesis clone, in brass, on the way in the post/mail, hopefully does not take too long.

I understand copper is more conductive, so am going to also get a copper Mech.

I was wondering, should I go for the standard 18650, which I have loads of, so can change when battery gets low, or get a 26650 due to the higher amps available? I am not likely to build super low, in all honesty lowest will probably be 0.3.

I was thinking of the battery life though, if iI got 2 26650's they should last much longer than a 25R, being around 4200MAH.

What would you do in this situation? I am only getting a couple of mods incase the worst happened, and I could no longer get a regulated, plus I feel like I know enough now to make the step of trying them.

going by your ohm level you shouldnt need the higher amp limit but i would suggest a copper abadon mod its a duel 18650 parallel mechanical box so if you wanted to build lower you could and it uses 2 18650s so you get the much higher battery life with the super conductive copper body. i personally dont see a need for 26650's but whatever works the best for you is the best option.

I am not a fan of mech (unregulated/unprotected) mods personally, so I would never go that route

From what i understand a copper mod really doesnt provide any better vape than any other tube mech unless very low ohms are chosen...I couldnt tell the difference on .5 ohm coil between my stainless nemesis i used to have and any of my other copper mods with exception to my SMPL which works better in general for other reasons.

Dont get so caught up in material used on the mech.. i chose copper because i like the look more than anything...not because its a big difference in performance..at least for the ohms i use which is .5

If you plan go go with super low ohm coils then copper can make a difference.

This thing with voltage drop is really just a fun way to compare builds...If you have a tube mod and it shows a voltage drop at the 510 then you have an issue somewhere with the mod..Voltage drop comes from the atty and coil you have sitting on top of it...by simply changing the ohms of a coil, you add or reduce voltage drop.

Ahh, if it does not make a difference at higher builds,I will not go that route. Regulated mods are more for me, but I was thinking worst case scenario, I can build a 0.4 and vape at 35 watts, with 10 amps drain on the battery, lowering to 20 watts and 8 amps from 4.1 to 3.1V, so I guess I will notice around 3.7-3.5V there is a difference.

It was just the talk of regulating sales, and making them medical devices, made me panic buy a Mod, as there is no chip in that to go wrong. I feel safe enough now to use one occasionally, as I have been building coils daily for around 4 months, and can get them to around the resistance I want from memory, but use an ohmmeter and also check on a regulated, and also check for any short possibilities, I understand with the mech that is even more important. Reglated Mods are more my thing though, I just wanted to get a mech for 'just in case'.

Your brass nemesis will work just fine with .4 ohm coils...you can still make some changes to improve its performance...The firing button contacts and 510 contacts make more of a difference in performance than anything...keep them clean and it will last you a very very long time.

Moving this to mech mods...

To me, 26650s were a fad that came and went about as quickly as the limited supply of high-discharge Sonys were snapped up. I see no need to have one mod that has batteries incompatible with all the rest of your stuff.

That said, I got a couple copper mechs for the voltage drop but found there wasn't enough of a difference to make it worth it for me. I kept them because I like the patina they develop from wear, but they're also much more fragile and prone to thread damage. If I had to go back to mechs tomorrow my stainless Nemesis clone would be my workhorse again.

I like my stainless mommy clone myself. Also with 22mm 18650 mods there is much much larger selection of atomizers to choose from that will fit flush and look sharp. I also agree it is a very good idea to have a mech or two as back ups.
